The router was fairly easy to set up and maintains connectivity well. However, coverage to some parts of my house is patchy (eg I have to leave the doors open to maintain connectivity). I decided to change the antenna for a more powerful one - a commonly-suggested means to improve coverage. The trouble is that the currently shipping version (v4) of this router has a fixed antenna that CANNOT BE REPLACED.

Earlier versions allowed replacement.

I agree with everyone who gives this device 5* - had mine 18 months with absolutely no troubles. Worked right out of the box and has been trouble free ever since. I've heard other USB hubs have been problematic - if you're worried, then buy this one.

Printers, PCs and a WAP were beginning to outnumber the ports on my router, so I bought a Netgear GS605 to extend the network. It couldn't be easier to setup and install. It was a matter of taking everything out of the box and plugging in the power supply, the link to the router and the network cables to the devices. That's it - no setup disk or passwords, no IP or MAC Addresses to be entered - it does all the mapping itself.

And like Jet Set Willy, I went and bought another a few days later to sort out my son's collection of Printers, PCs and a WAP.

Bought this to stream HD videos on my Linksys media extender DMA2200 in the bedroom, currently I have a Comtrend EOP which although was stable and could watch TV, it didn't give me the bandwidth needed to stream HDTV.

Plugs are very easy to install, however the bandwidth monitor on my Extender shows that there was not even enough bandwidth for steaming music without interruption!!!! The Netgear configuration utility showed a speed of 4 mbps!! I tested these plugs by plugging them in side by side and found a connection speed of 133mbps - not bad if you want a link in the same room!

I live in a house only 5 years old, Wiring is not an issue here, as I found with the comtrend EOP.
I will be asking for a refund, as I see not ... Read More:

Had it up and running in 20 minutes on Virgin Cable. Set up was easy to follow, and I did not encounter any difficulty.
I've been using it constantly over the past few months without any issues.
Connected to it are the following:
4 desktop PCs (2 are wireless - 2 using Ethernet cable) 2 Laptops (wireless) 1 Xbox (Ethernet cable), I PS3 (wireless) and 1 wireless internet radio. I know it's a lot, but I have a family the size of The Waltons!!.

I am on Virgin's 10Mb broadband. The average speed I get on the ethernet wired PCs is 9.5Mb and on the wireless Laptops I get 6.5Mb which is great.
Over all a great piece of gear, that does what it's supposed ... Read More:

I've never had a problem with this wireless router. Everything that I've needed to connect to this has connected seamlessly. Cheap laptops have been able to connect at full speed. Even my old Palm TX will connect no problems. Until I bought a 2G Ipod Touch and for some reason it would not connect.

So in a fit of madness I bought an Apple extreme wireless router. Now my Ipod connects but the speed of everything else and the range is significantly worse. The Apple looks nice and costs twice as much as the D-link, but it's all show and no go.

So to cut a long story short, I've gone back to the D-link and I'll wait for Apple to fix the Ipod Touch. Here I am, in the garden (30ft and three walls away) back with a good signal downloading at 20Mb from my ... Read More:

I bought this to replace an older D-link router that was showing it's age, and bought it especially for the N band to match a new laptop.

The setup is easy to be honest: I didn't even bother with the CD malarky that is included because I find they usually cause more hassle than they save. To get it working you just plug in the relevant cables and go the setup page in your web browser (just type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar). From there you just log in using the default password in the manual and run the setup wizard which just takes a few minutes. Simple.

The only issue I had was that it couldn't connect to the internet at first, but I quickly figured this out: I had to use the same MAC code as my old router I was replacing. This is most ... Read More:

I don't normally write reviews... but after the pain I felt in getting this thing to work I felt compelled. Service was ok, in that the item arrived a week or so after order went in. No doubt I didn't read the description properly but the modem came with no power adaptor, no manual, CD or cat 5 cable. So, I set about purchasing/downloading these separately. When I had everything I needed (took a while - you try searching for a power adaptor for this thing) I couldn't connect wirelessly so had to use cat 5 cable. A long story short is that about 3 hours on the Belkin support line later I was finally in business. They were very good and very patient although still frustrating having to repeat everything you say twice as the call centre is in India, or somewhere near. The modem ... Read More:
