Electronics : Antec Notebook Cooler

My Xbox 360 recently died from the GPU melting so when I upgraded to the Xbox 360 Elite I wanted to get some form of cooling unit. Seen a review on another site saying it was ideal for the Xbox 360 so I got myself one from Amazon. It works a treat on the Xbox 360. Keeps it nice and cool and the fans themselves are very, vert quiet. The unit itself fits in very well with the colour of the Xbox 360 Elite and if fits perfectly under an Xbox. Highly recomended if you are worried about your Xbox melting.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good case. The only trouble is that once people see this case in relation to their old case they think it is magic - fair enough. But compare like for like and the XClio A380 is a better case in the same price range.

If you don't have a case fan slot, or you have a build up of hot air at the bottom of your case (possible caused by a high end graphics card) this could be the perfect solution for you.

The fan comes with a molex in and a molex out, so it won't cost you any power connectors.

There are three speed settings, from low (silent) to high (lots of air moved) on the back of the cooler, next to the exhaust, and the intake fan is on the top. The case itself is very solid and reasonably smart.

great gaming case helps keep my quad core system at 26c just add two 120mm led fans to front then it looks great as well.psu mounts to bottom of case so if your psu has short leads it could mean some issues.

It's brilliant! It has all the features it says, but there is one small issue which, while not affecting performance, does inconvenience:
On the packet it does not say which way round you have to install it as the fan can be for intake or exhaust, so I had to plug it in before I could screw it in place. So you don't have to, here's how it works: when the "antec" writing in the centre of the fan that does not move (on the sticker) is facing out towards you, then the fan is pushing air towards you (exaust); therefore when the "antec" writing in the centre that DOES spin round is facing towards you, the the fan is sucking air from you (pushing air away from you) and so acting as an intake fan.
Apart from this teensy weensy minor little oversight on the ... Read More:

I bought this case to create a slave media centre in our bedroom. We have an Antec Fusion in the lounge and this case complements its style very well. It is obviously a lot cheaper than the Fusion but the build quality overall is just as good. My only criticism would be the use of a plastic bezel forming the front panel. On the Fusion this is brushed aluminium and looks wonderful.

It's still a great piece of kit; passively cooling the CPU with a Thermalright SI-128 (which fits this case and the Fusion fine) and removing one of the two case fans makes it nice and quiet whilst running - there's plenty of ventilation in the case and the CPU (AMD64 X2 3600) runs at an acceptable 38°C in operation as a media centre device running Gentoo Linux 64Bit.

The so-called Super Advanced Mini Tower, despite receiving awards and great reviews from a variety of independent sites, is actually rather poor.

It has some great concepts - a dual air chamber with the power supply and hard drives at the bottom, and the rest of the PC separate above barring cables, built-in exhaust out of the top of the PC, easily removable hard drive bays.

What really marrs this otherwise great case is that all of these great concepts don't work properly. The separate power supply chamber has a central support that cannot be removed, with a fan on it. This fan is the only way to move air through the chamber, but must be removed to fit almost any power supply. Large power supplies will probably not fit at all. The lack ... Read More:

My rear fan needed replacing due bearing failure so I thought this would be a good option, though I regret my choice now. Even at the lowest speed it's more noisy than the one with the bearing failure it was to replace and the cables are poorly thought out - the mainboard one is really long and the actual power one is really short.

I gave it 2 stars as it does as the literature describes but as someone that wanted a quiet product this misses the mark for me.
