Wanted a small, good quality MP3 player for the commute to work. This ticks all the boxes. It's small, easy to use with no proprietary software required - just plug it in to your PC and drag and drop. If you want you can sync it with Windows Media Player but it's not necessary. Don't know what the supplied headphones are like as I use a pair of Sennheisers and the sound is great. So if you want something small and simple, get one and don't pay the premium for a bigger name brand, it's not worth it. Can't comment on video playback but that's not what I got it for. If I had one gripe it'd be that I'd like a bit more storage, maybe if they did a 4GB version it would be ideal. In the meantime, I'll stick with this.

I bought one for my Archos AV700 and because it sticks out of the unit at a perpendicular angle it snapped clean off. So I now have to buy another one as well as writing a long letter to Archos. Unfortunately it's a necessary evil if you want to use the AV functions of the unit.

This probably is the single worst product I have ever bought within last 10 years. I am so disappointed; I decided never to buy ANY Archos product ever.

OK so there are a few issues with the Archos 605 wifi. But I still LOVE IT! I bought the 4GB one - why? Cos: 1) it was cheap (PC World were selling them off cheap at £80!) 2) It is 150g rather than 259g for the 160GB version and it is also slimmer to fit into your pocket 3) It's as expandable as you want - I've got half a dozen 16GB SD cards already and I can have as many as I like. The others (as far as I know don't have an expansion card slot) 4) Hard Drive units are susceptible to damage if you drop/jolt them. This one isn't. But each to his own - I am sure there are plenty of you out there who prefer to have your 120GB or whatever on the unit already. I love the screen - the quality ... Read More:

Thought i play it safe and buy Archos own branded case, what mistake. There is no hole in the case to charge it up so you have to take it out of the case every time you want to charge it up, also there is no where to store your styli. When you want to watch the screen there is no stand for it and the buckle strap get's in the way all the time. Basically i would not recommend this product at all and i would recommend I-nique Premium Napa Leather Case which is a much superior case

The brown and black leather looks really good together and the subtle Archos logo's up's the class. Does somewhat resemble Grandma's purse but do not let that put you off. Has brown stitching throughout (preferable to the white stitching of most cases) and a holder for your stylus (inside, not out). Standard 'popper' button on the front and a clip on the back if you are one of those people who like to clip things on your trousers. You can't put it direct onto a dock without taking it out of the case but are you really that lazy? No, you're not. Have seen I-nique's and Proporta cases in Micro Anvika on Tottenham Court Road but was unimpressed compared with the look and feel of this case. Well deserves its ... Read More:

I love this MP3 player - it's absolutely fantastic! It holds my entire CD collection and there's still room. It's so simple to use - just plug it into the computer, click on the tunes you want in Windows media player 10 or above and away you go - no fuss and no hassle. The battery seems to last forever (I've had mine 18 months and only charged it about 3 times!)(plus it comes with the charger so you don't need to keep buying batteries) and it works really well with the Kensington FM transmitter to use in the car.
