I had one of these delivered yesterday, and am finding it quick, light, quiet and very easy to use. It found my wireless network within seconds of booting up and logged on first time. I have also used it around the house and had no problem when I am away from the router.

Was slightly worried I wouldn't be able to touch type on it, but am having no problems. Also the screen is large enough and bright enough to allow my 40+ eyes to read it easily!

Overall a sexy little machine which is doing exactly what I want it to and which I am looking forward to being able to take out and about, given that I can carry it easily in one hand.

Recommended for anyone looking for real mobile computing power.

I am I suspect the same as many people, all I do is a bit of net surfing, and do the occasional letter or spreadsheet. I have had one of these for about 3 months now with no problems what so ever. The battery life is excellent 5-6 hours, and it starts really quickly. The internet runs fine, and I have no issues with the screen size, in fact I dont even notice it even though when at work I use a standard size 13 inch screen all day. It comes with basic word and excel loaded, so as long as you dont need to do anything over complex it is fine. I know the memory is small, but I have a USB Memory stick just in case, but also I dont really need to load anything onto this. It is perfect for taking around with you and using on the move.

Good
Ultra compact & cool - Everybody who has seen it has commented!

Fast - 1GB of RAM seems to be perfectly OK - Copes well with the programs you would realistically want to run. Mega quick start up & shut down.

Keyboard - perfectly OK with keys are obviously small but I only type with two fingers so it doesn't really bother me

Battery life - I regularly get 6 hrs+ on a full charge

Forums - There is an incredible amount of info on every conceivable question you may have about EeePcs on the web - They seem to have a cult following

Bad
No CD/DVD drive - If you haven't got an external one it's a real pain to restore without it (you have to create a windows bootable flash ... Read More:

I'd been searching for a long time for a good value notebook to supplement my home-office PC. Finally I plumped for this little gem and I've not been disappointed. The battery life seems adequate and it loads in double quick time. Whilst the screen size is small you get used to it quickly enough, after all if you want a larger screen you need to think of getting a much more expensive and bulkier laptop. This is exactly what it purports to be, a light-weight, easy to use, inexpensive tool.

Don't expect it to match a full size laptop it won't and if you need to run additional software then you'll need to add an external dvd/cd drive.

Downsides if there are any - I touch type and it's taken me ages to adjust to the right-hand shift ... Read More:

Just bought the EEE PC904 HD in white. What a fantastic device! I was looking for something to replace my old Psion organiser (mini pc style) which died a while back. I had software to sync this with windows and it was useful to carry around my dates, schedules, word and excel files. I looked at several PDAs but came around to the idea of a netbook style PC.

For compatibility with windows, I went for the ASUS EEE PC904 with 80G hard drive. It comes with Win XP home and MS Works preloaded. It has anti virrus pre-installed, a web cam and mic array with a mini web video creation package. Win XP was at SP3 level but I have updated the IE browser to V.7. plus other win updates are rolling in.

The device also has 3 USB ports, headphone ... Read More:

I bought the original eee 701, and was so happy with it, that when they updated it to cover most of the disadvantages of the original, I bought the 901. It has improved in the following areas: bigger screen, better CPU, 5 times more disk, twice as much memory, bluetooth, Wifi N, twice as much battery power, and these improvements have cost me an extra eur70 (and a little extra weight).

In brief: Intel Atom processor at 1.6GHz, that adjusts its speed according to what you are doing, 1G memory, 20G (flash) disk, with over 16Gig free, 9 inch/23cm 1024x600 colour screen, VGA out (up to 2048x2048), 3xUSB, ethernet, Wifi N, webcam, 2 built-in mics, stereo speakers, mic in/headphone out, SD card reader. Weighs about 1.1kg/2½lbs. Battery life is amazing with 5 hours ... Read More:

I've watched the growing popularity of the netbook for a while and finally in a position to need a laptop, I plumped for the 901. After numerous courier mishaps I finally laid hands upon it and it's a marvellous piece of kit.

The display is crisp and sharp, good for browsing the web and IM conversations, as well as typing up documents and emails. The smaller keyboard may be a hinderance to a few but after a bit of practice your fingers will be dancing like on a regular keyboard. The mouse trackpad is quite responsive and supports multitouch gestures, handy for scrolling webpages one handed.

The nifty new Intel Atom processor has made short work of everything I've thrown it from imaging apps to processing video from the onboard camera, which is admittedly ... Read More:
