bought as a cheap second phone and does the job.no thrills and true ringtones are dire.still some way behind mobiles.why?but is easy to use & battery life not bad.call log is unfathomable otherwise o.k.

This product works very well, the sound is clear all the features are great BUT there is obviously a problem with this item as I purchased the old version which broke down after six months (same problem as everyone keeps pointing out, the sound stops working)then I bought twice the new version and both broke down after a few months. So i am very disapointed and a stunned that BT has been able to solve this problem before the launch of their new version.

The battery life is no more than 24 hours, The range warning bleeps when no more than 15 yards away from the base unit and the clarity is disappointing.

This product isn't the one in the picture, but the one that comes is better, and is an actual BT one! Fantastic service from this seller, fab product!

This is quite a simple answering machine, but it suffers from being slow and occasionally it seems to get stuck and keep beeping even when you have listened to the new messages. On a cordless phone, you get terrible screeching speaker feedback over the top of your conversation if you approach within 3 metres of the it. If you answer a call after the answering machine starts up, you have to wait for the recorded message to speak over the top of you before you can be heard by the caller. Worst of all on cordless phones, if the answering machine comes on, your private conversation is broadcast live by the answering machine's speaker and recorded for later playback. Just purchased this for my Mum who's 80, and a Parkinson's sufferer. The feature which attracted me was the AMPLIFICATION. Out of the box, first impressions are "this is huge"! It's almost twice the size of a normal phone. But then it is called "Big"! Buttons are what it says on the tin - big too! Now to the amplification. You have ability to set INcoming and OUTgoing amplification via a binary switch on the BASE of the unit. I immediately set it to IN and then increased volume to highest via front volume+/- switch. Then I flipped to OUTgoing and did the same. Now wouldn't you expect those setting to remain in place so my Mum would have to change them? Well they don't. This started brilliantly, outperforming all previous adaptors for range by far - however, when the first one went faulty Big Box were superb with their service and replaced very quickly - six months later second unit has failed. Big Box offering refund as they don't have a suggested replacement - this is a shame as they have been superb but it would be foolhardy to try a third BT Voyager 1055 with this reliability record.

This is my third router, the previous ones being Belkin and Netgear, and both became faulty after a period of use. I have had the Voyager for about seven months, so I can't vouch for its long term performance, but the performance within that period has been exceptionally good. Firstly, the Internet connection has NEVER dropped out. It has been switched off when I have been away from home occasionally and on switching on again it recaptures the broadband signal within about half a minute without my touching it. The other two both had occasional drop outs and had to be rebooted. Secondly the signal strength right at the top of my three storey Victorian house is more than twice as strong as it was with my earlier routers. The wireless card in the upstairs ... Read More:
