I had been looking at a newer shaver for a while since my Phillishave coolskin hit the big 5 years and it was with some nervousness that I purchased this razor. Going in blind with seemingly no reviews on the internet I closed my eyes and hit buy. Well two weeks on I can say it's an excellent shaver. It cuts close and quickly with no irritation, even on my own skin which is quite dry. The best thing for me is the cleaning system which not only looks great but leaves the shaver spotless and with a zesty lemon smell. This saves a lot of time as I had to manual clean my Phillisave constantly and I was never able to get it clean enough for my satisfaction. Very stylish, well built shaver. Good shave (not very good) as you would expect for this sort of money, although I did expect it to be a little better. Moved from a wet shave as the pain was getting to much on the ol' top lip and this is really smooth and totally painless. Although with my Homer Simpson style six o'clock shadow I was hoping this Braun would be a little close than it is. Great self cleaning (apart from soaking myself while opening the liquid container thing for the first time). A little noisy as the shaver starts as well, but I guess that gets it cleaner. I started epilating my arms when I was a teenager, using a Braun silk epil that I bought in the mid-nineties. Fantastic results, but the pain really was considerable, and it used to take me about 45 minutes as a result. I defected to waxing for a few years, but bought the Xpressive 7180 yesterday as the waxing cost really does add up. I love it. It must be less painful than before, because I had both arms done in less than 20 minutes. It was much easier to guide across the area than my previous one due to the design and flexibility of the head. The little light is pretty useful too. Ok, so it does dry your hair, which is what its supposed to do but this hairdryer is heavy. Also its quite hot, so after drying my hair my arm aches and I am sweating. Nothing special about this but I have gone back to my old one. There was nothing wrong with it, I just fancied a new one. Wish I hadn't wasted my money.

This was taken as a replacement for my faulty Remington F720 and I'm certainly glad the F720 took an early bath and I opted for this instead. Having been a wet shaver for some years now, I was pessimistic about owning another electric as they're usually no comparison to a razor. However, I'm glad to say this one is superb and appears everything the Remington wasn't. The semi-metal/plastic body feels very sturdy and of high quality with just the right shape and weight for prolonged holding in your hand. The shave is also surprsingly close though I'd recommend also using a shaving oil to help reduce rash, of which there seems to be remarkably little when using this.
