Electronics : Bush Personal DAB radio with MP3 player PDAB2014MP3

Well i got this about a week ago now and must say im impressed. It has done just what i wanted it to and thats enable me to listen to talk sport in my motor. Its got enough storage for 60-70 songs on the mp3 front which is more than enough for me and has a good battery life too. Im really pleased with this product and didnt have to wait too long for it to arive. If your more of a radio listener than mp3 this is great. And yes the signal does drop out from time to time but never more than 5-10mins in my area which is when i stick a tune on the mp3 player! Nice crimbo gift of treat for yourself! if your thinking about getting one i say DOIT!

Note that there is another listing on Amazon that appears to contain all of the bad reviews of this product - Wonder why that is ?

This is what I thought of it:

"I almost sent it back when it first came out of the box - I should have done! - nothing but trouble:
The worst remote control I've ever seen - the buttons don't do what they're supposed to and don't do anything unless you're within 3 feet of the thing
Channel change is very slow
If you press button 2 for BBC2 and get fed up waiting and press again - it dumps the channel memory and you have to do the complete installation again
It eventually died after a month of this - probably just as well !!! "

Yes it does look cheap, but at the price I can't complain about that. I was expecting completely average sound when I fired it up but was very surprised at the crisp and clear quality. It can be a little less tolerant of dust than other tables, but when using clean vinyl, the reproduction is quite stunning. I've used tables that are better, but they've been around the £150+ range.

In short, if you want a decent table to play your records on or archive stuff, this is a good choice. If you have lots of money or have an attack of badge snobbery, then this table isn't for you.

Bought this on looks, price and specification -- the latter referring to the VESA mounting standard to which both this stand and my Sony Bravia KDLs32s claim to adhere. The holes match up on both items, but the TV requires screws of much greater girth than will fit through the holes of the mount. I've had to send it back.

I found that this machine does not like anything above 1gb, any home divx movies recorded on more the movie would freeze and jump. When recorded onto a cd which is 700mb just lower than 1gb, the movies played great no skipping or freezing. If you can live with that then this machine is brilliant. Rule of thumb divx movies not over 700mb.

I bought this DVD player as it can connect to my TV via an otherwise unused HDMI socket (thus saving me having to use a SCART block). The picture quality is very good on my 32 inch LG LCD TV, better than from Sky or Freeview (both SD). However the player does pause for a few seconds 2 or 3 times during a film. My biggest complaint however is that the remote is very poor. You have to point directly at the player and even then first go often does not work.

This player will do me until Blue Ray players become affordable (sub £100).

In summary a fair HDMI DVD player but is worth closer to £30 (what I paid for it) than £69.

Rejects virtually as many DVD's as it accepts - all region specific, legitimate copies. Won't allow you to re-write DVD's - maybe my fault, could've missed something in the instructions? I find it easier to format disc on PC and then transfer back to machine.

I don't normally write reviews but have been so pleased with this purchase I can highly recommend it. I use it all the time when at home doing diy, decorating etc. However, as the box and manual warn you do need a WiFi broadband connection in your home/work with these radios. I live in the country and the limited number of mainstream DAB channels is of little use to me, I like Jazz, Dance, Fusion and Latin which is only available through the internet. This radio is easy to set up and use and hooks up to the website www.reciva.com where you can quickly add more of your favourite channels or try out channels to listen on your radio later. If you have moved to the UK from abroad you can listen to your home radio stations. Not only that you can stream mp3 ... Read More:
