This isn't the slimmest or tiniest compact digital camera, but it's still easily pocketable (jacket, not shirt!) and for the price, produces great pics in a compact form. The screen is a good size and nice and bright and the extra bit on the zoom makes a difference - most of the competition stops at 3x. The colour choice allows a bit of personalisation.

There are an amazing number of presets, but you won't need most of them, and the most important ones are the most accessible. Anyone unused to digital cameras or who is a bit of a technophobe upgrading might find the menus a bit of a fiddle, but for most purposes, they won't be used much.

Pictures are bright and sharp with comparatively little distortion. Colours are ... Read More:

My brother recently got a Pixma 6600D and asked me to order a set of 6 carts. Having an account with Amazon I thought these were a good price but ouch - the postage ended up MORE than the price of the cartridges.
OK, I should have checked before clicking confirm but when postage on a small package tends to be a few pounds I expected something below a fiver.
Having had a heart attack I would feel guilty passing on the postage cost in full so I shall now end up out of pocket thanks to the unclear cost.

Pretty explanatory title. I do a lot of Photo/DTP work. My printer gives a good idea of the finished product. Don't save here - use canon ink otherwise you will not get polished results, just fast-fading images.

Red light charging, green light charge complete, simple.

I used this twice already and charge times varied between 45mins and hour and half, both times the battery was almost empty, I'm sure this will charge quicker if your battery still has some life in it.

Overall, its a battery charger, nothing complicated and easy to use.

I have used this camera to take about 800 pictures and 20 short movies in the past year. Portable but not too small for my big hands. Easy to use. Picture quality excellent on photos, not so good on video (but useful, fun, and easy to use when I'm only able to take camera in my back pack when I've kids things to carry as well). The only trouble I had was when a Hama high speed SD Card 4g was close to capacity and I started to lose some of the images I had taken when I reviewed them again due to unidentified image errors (which I note another reviewer has referred to). Since then I have switched to 2g SD cards from scandisk and these have so far proved reliable.

If you are in the market for an HD camcorder (trust me you are if you tried plugging in your non-HD camcorder into your shiny 42inch+ HDTV and gawped at the shocking image quality) then this one is an abolute corker.

I've spent the last 3 months researching this, and the canon won hands down compared with items from Sony, Panasonic, and Sanyo. My needs include being light weight (so HDD is out).

Initially I loved the Sanyo Xacti VPC1000, small, light, cheap but no optical stabiliser which for recording sports (Wakeboarding, windsurfing, etc...) is vital. Video quality was appalling.

Then Panasonic ?SD5 / SD9 came along, but felt cheap in terms of build quality - also the colours were too vivid and not lifelike. ... Read More:

I bought the 580EX Mk II Speedlite to use it on a Canon EOS-1V film SLR or EOS 30D D-SLR cameras. I found the user manual to be very basic which is rather a pity.

This Speedlite can be used in full auto or full manual flash modes and it works seamlessly when fitted directly to the accessory shoe (hot shoe) on either camera and I assume if an extension cable is used.

The ETTL metering used in the 1V and the ETTLII metering used in the 30D camera work perfectly.

The 580EX Mk II can be used as a powerful flashgun when fitted directly to the camera's accessory shoe and bouncing the light off a wall or ceiling.

You can also set it as a slave unit and trigger it with the optional ST-E2 Wireless Unit. ... Read More:
