I used a Powershot A40 from 2003 until last year which was always superb. I then bought a Lumix FX50 ( £200 ) because it has a Leica lens and was small enough to fit in a pocket. Guess what? It was nowhere near as good quality as the old 2Mp Canon. Just bought this and It's a lot of camera for the money. If I adjust it down to 2Mp it's still comparable to the Lumix!Plus it doesn't suffer mad fits of colour saturation on flash photos like the Lumix did. It may be a little chunky for a pocket, but if you prefer some control over your photos as apposed to "point and shoot" this will take some beating!

I bought this lens in a pack with the canon 5d body and what a pair they make! This lens was designed for the 5d and was released at the same time. With the 5d being full frame you get the full 24mm at the wide end which is great and it goes all the way to 105mm with no croping/zoom factor typical of crop sensors...If you're using it on a 1.6 crop body you'll get say 39 - 168mm, not exactly wide but it has a handy zoom. The lens is very well built and all the control rings are very smooth. Both rings sport rubber grips that are comfortable and easy to hold. If you need to print up to A3+ size on a regular basis and want a print quality that is the equal of good on-line print services then look no further. Pros Worked straight out of the box and driver installed without any problems. Very impressive quality. Prints on a large range of heavy weight papers. Very fast printing even at highest quality. I got 15 high quality A4 prints plus 6 or 7 High quality A3 prints before needing to replace three inks and by all accounts this is pretty good compared to the competition from Epson and HP. You absolutely do need a second battery for your camera if you are at all serious about photography. I bought the Canon Ixus 500 and this battery as a spare. I wouldn't be without it. Basically its essential. This one (identical to the one supplied with the camera) is reliable, fast to charge, and lasts a couple of days (or 100 or so photos) in my experience. Its not exciting, but it is worth the 30 quid or so.

My brother recently got a Pixma 6600D and asked me to order a set of 6 carts. Having an account with Amazon I thought these were a good price but ouch - the postage ended up MORE than the price of the cartridges. OK, I should have checked before clicking confirm but when postage on a small package tends to be a few pounds I expected something below a fiver. Having had a heart attack I would feel guilty passing on the postage cost in full so I shall now end up out of pocket thanks to the unclear cost. If the email turns out to be incorrect and the postage cost ends up something more sensible I will retract but for now, cannot recommend. Look elsewhere for free P & P

I have seen the review by another Amazon user. The ml content of genuine Canon cartridges is abismal but i have found excellent compatible cartridges @ www.advantage-online.co.uk These cartridges contain approx 2 times the amount of ink and are cheaper than the Canon version. Most important they work very well and there is no difference in quality from the original. I ordered one black and one colour and received them next day with free postage.
