I had mixed feelings about this hood. Is certanly very cheap compared to the others in the market and somepeople think is good value for money. The main problem is that fiddly to fit in and remove ( it can take up to a minute ) and it can be slighty frustrating. The shape is a bit odd and makes your lens look ugly. Do I recommend it ? I sold mine on amazon market place and bought a EW hood and I am happier with the result 3 and a half stars , mainly due to be value for money

As is the case with most Canon kit, the ST-E2 is overpriced. The unit does perform very well, and does exactly what it should. However, I think it is in need of an update. The part which slots on to the hot-shoe is made of plastic, not metal, and is a little wobbly - although not insecure. The same fitting on my 580EX II flash is far superior. I dare say they could also make it less bulky. I prefer the use of a 2CR5 battery, because the power should outlast a couple of rechargeable AA batteries. Be sure to order a battery, because it is not supplied with one!

I own this lens since a month now and I can only say "waouh..." I've never use so wide a lens before (28mm was the lowest I've used before) but it's a revelation. I corroborate previous comments, the lens is sharp at all apertures, there is almost no barrel distorsion even at 10mm wide open. It was perfect for snow pictures a couple of weeks ago. Only downsize is the lack of a hood as commented previously and if you want to use a UV filter you need a slim one wich add to the cost. And if you want a polariser it's even worse.

For owners of Canon printers. If you want good quality photographs and photographs that will remain good quality for many years to come, genuine Canon Ink Cartridges should be purchased. I have tried all the cheaper cartridges available over the years and have found there is no substitute for the genuine article. Cheap inks cartridges are ok for rough work but to use cheap cartridges for quality photographic prints is false economy. Don't be tempted by cheap cartridges if you want long lasting colour prints. P.S. I am a genuine customer and have no connection with Canon or any other manufacturer. This is purely my advice based on many years of printing photographs on Canon printers of various types.

Suitable for Cannon MP360 All in one printer. Quite good quality to print color sheets or photos. Also suitable for MP 370. As long as it is quality product and fit your device, can't be wrong.

Just bought the Canon G9 and needed a flash which was somewhat stronger then the on-camera strobe. I bought this and was so surprised how easy it was to set -up - just put it on the camera and fire away. Ok I need to try the other settings but exposure was spot on direct and bounced. A gripe - well I prefer off camera flash and you have to buy a canon lead (or close) to do that and whilst the flash can be used wireless thats another £100 or so pounds to add, whilst with a Nikon D300 you can activate a wireless flash (SB-800) easily at no extra cost. All in all great, but I can see me buying some more accessories to get the most from the flash.

I bought one of these from a well known auction site for about £80. It's a good all rounder and gives me a bit more scope than my nifty fifty EF-50mm. I've produced some really good photos from it with great colour and detail. Agree with other reviewers about it excelling when it's stopped down, it does take a while to figure out how to get the best from it. Generally very happy with this lens.

I had to buy a new printer as my old Canon i865 was not Vista compatible. My shortlist was the Canon Pixma iP4500 and this Canon Pixma iP100. Both featured excellent photo quality printing, and were comparable in print speeds. The only major differences were size (the iP100 being considerably smaller), and purchase/running cost (the iP100 being considerably more expensive on both). I bought the iP100 because of its tiny desktop footprint, and have not been disappointed. The photo printing quality is just superb. Canon claims it is "photo lab" quality given its 1 picolitre droplet size, and I can only endorse this claim. It's no slow-coach either on photo printing.
