I adore it. I resent having to remove it from my camera because it's such fun to use. However, this is not a lens for everyday use - it's for savouring and exploring new perspectives with. Bought this obviously for the Canon EOS 450D. You do not need to buy an extra Battery Pack (Canon LP-E5) as this unit will function with just one but can take two, extending your shooting capabillity. What I didn't know was that it also comes with an extra battery tray which enables you to use 6 AA (Walkman tm) Battery's great if you loose power or cannot get to a power point. Something that happened to me at the Volcano in St Lucia, sure enough the gift shop sold AA's so all was not lost. As for build and quality, similar to the EOS and once easily fitted looks like one unit. I already own a Sigma DG 28-300 Lense (not the best of lenses, but its half decent) on my 350D results were good, but when this was twined with my 40D it's a gem, the pictures are much sharper and vibrant. To top it off , it comes with great software aswell, in particular the photostitch software included, it's simple and powerful, i stiched 4 photos together in about 5 minutes with perfect results !
