When I bought the EOS350D I also bought a Jessops spare battery - out of the two, the canon has completely died on me (no power, the recharger goes green after 20 seconds, but there is still no power) - the jessops one is still going strong. At 3 times the cost - I'll be buying a compatible one. p.s. the camera is fantastic.

I've always had Canon products, so when my powershot died this year, I replaced it with the IXUS. And for the first time in my life, I'm finding that about 1/2 of my pictures are blurred. The autofocus is just not as good as their other products.

On reading the other reviews I was quite worried. Nevertheless, the Canon DCC-600 is much better than I expected; it is excellent quality (in real leather); offers great protection; fits the G9 perfectly and looks rather cool and even has a neat SD Card holder in the lid. I agree that a spare battery holder would have been useful but where do you stop. If you have a G7 or G9 I would highly recommend it; you will not be disappointed!

I've read a lot of negative reviews and low ratings on Canon inks, so I wanted to point out a couple of things to think about to those that read the reviews and using them before buying. You may find this same review on the different ink colours from Canon, but I don't work for Canon and I'm not a fanboy of theirs either (I prefer the digital cameras from their main rival actually!) - I simply use Canon printers and inks. 1) Some reviews are not rating the product, they are rating the delivery cost of the item. Whilst this is an important part of the purchase, I don't think it is justified to include this in the rating because Amazon provide free delivery if you spend £15 or over. I'd hunted around other sites for a spare battery to carry with my Ixus 40's issued one (having recently been kicking myself for not doing this sooner in a wedding where the battery ran out half way through!). This battery is exactly as shown in the photo - the spec matchs my Ixus 40's issued battery to the tee. Other sites had them shipped from Japan or were cheap imitation batteries which couldn't guarantee compatibility with the Canon charger. Worth every penny.

Just wanted to join the large amount of praise for this lens and thank others for reviews which tempted me to buy! I have just upgraded to a Canon 40D and purchased this lens, as it appeared fantastic value, to got along with my kit lens. Firstly, this lens feels cheap and plasticky and nothing like the 17-85mm lens in the kit. This is totally irrelevant though as the lens is cheap. The pictures are totally stunning and i am over the moon with this lens. The shallow depth of field delivers great portraits which is something very important as I became a dad a couple of months ago so i have a 24 hours a day model at my disposal! I have tried compatible cartridges on my Canon pixma IP4300 and I can't be bothered with having to swap the chips off the original Canon cartridges and then clipping it on to the compatible, just to find the the bloody thing won't work. Stick to the Canon original cartridges for a stress free life of printing. Some people on Amazon have also had the same problem as myself when it comes to companies offering a really cheap price on the net, but when it comes to the delivery charges (£4.50) WHAT!!!!!, really you and I know that a ink cartridge can be sent though the post for about £1.00. Do these companies really think that they can reel us in with what looks like a really cheap price for a cartridge that cost £4 - £5 less than on the high street ... Read More:

This is a genuine Canon replacement and works for my 860is. Its the same as the battery that come with the camera. I was gona buy a generic battery such from other battery suplliers but they are generic and you can never be sure. For a start a lot of them didnt match the 1120mAH spec, but the prices were great.... until amazon dropped their price by £10. Its now one of the cheapest batteries for your camera, ontop of which its a canon one , whereas for this price elsewhere you get one which is generic and i didnt trust it in a £200+ camera. With free deliery you cant get a cheaper battery for your canon. It comes "off the shelf" in the proper box they way you would see it as in a shop. Even has Canon genuine hologram on it. I was forced to buy a new scanner due to Epson not providing a driver for my old one now that I've got a new PC. It was hardly used and in perfect working order - a shameful waste. However, every cloud has a silver lining! What a little cracker the Canoscan 4400F is. Very easy to set up and simple to use. No 1" thick manual to wade through (as with my Epson model and I never did understand how to use it properly!) only an 8 page easy start guide. Just remember to take the mains cable out of the box before you take it up to the loft for storage and then plug it in! I didn't and couldn't understand why my PC didn't recognise the scanner - whoops. I had been installing rather a lot of devices on the new PC all at once so it was easily forgotten. During the course of my work i have occasion to use many different Canon printers and fax machines. Until recommended by my brother inlaw to use www.advantage-online.co.uk i had little faith in the re-manufactured versions available at all sorts of prices. However i have been using advantage for about 6 months and have to say that the version they sell is excellent. Not the cheapest compatible CL-51 cartridge you can buy but the quality is excellent and lasts alot longer. I order today and always get the goods tomorrow with free post, and i still save money.
