I bought this lens in a pack with the canon 5d body and what a pair they make!

This lens was designed for the 5d and was released at the same time. With the 5d being full frame you get the full 24mm at the wide end which is great and it goes all the way to 105mm with no croping/zoom factor typical of crop sensors...If you're using it on a 1.6 crop body you'll get say 39 - 168mm, not exactly wide but it has a handy zoom.

The lens is very well built and all the control rings are very smooth. Both rings sport rubber grips that are comfortable and easy to hold. There's a switch to turn off the IS and also one for the AF system. There's a window on the lens barrel giving distance information. The lens feels substantial and ... Read More:

I got this as a more portable alternative to my Canon XH-A1. It's small but solid (feels very well built) and very easy to use. I'm especially pleased with the excellent viewfinder, which I often prefer to the LCD (which is itself pretty good), and the 3.5mm external mic connector (uncommon on consumer camcorders).

Image quality is excellent, and there's a high degree of control. I'd give this 5 stars but for 2 shortcomings: first, I always prefer to have a complete manual control option (goes back to my still photo days). Although you do have a lot of flexibility, there is no pure manual control of exposure. Second, I still have some reservations about the hard disk/AVCHD approach. It means you have to start thinking about how to ... Read More:

I bought this camera 2 months ago and I still cant believe how good it is. The best money I have ever spent on an electronic product. It is compact, lightweight, has a very fast start up time and takes superb photos. You can have it up and running within 2 minutes of opening the box and it is has a very intuitive user interface. I am just back from NY an everybody has commented on how good the photos are. It never ran out of battery life either. The only slight complaint is that the memory card that comes with the camera only holds 20 photos. I went to Argos and bought a 1Gb memory card for £15. Overall one of the best purchases I have ever made!!!! :-)

Good value printer but the cartridges are chipped so you have to use Canon cartridges. You can refill but the chips are all-seeing so even this is not a full solution.

Printer is easy to install. No major problems so far.

Uses ink every time its turned on - before its printed anything.

Not as good as my old warhorse Canon BJ3000.

My brother recently got a Pixma 6600D and asked me to order a set of 6 carts. Having an account with Amazon I thought these were a good price but ouch - the postage ended up MORE than the price of the cartridges.
OK, I should have checked before clicking confirm but when postage on a small package tends to be a few pounds I expected something below a fiver.
Having had a heart attack I would feel guilty passing on the postage cost in full so I shall now end up out of pocket thanks to the unclear cost.

I just bought it and I love the camera. The only down side is that it was delivered in an open box and therefore I am not sure if its new. But that is the seller's problem not the cameras. The camera seems to be very good quality. Its not as small or cute as most cameras. But its smart. It zooms and gives you options to find your best. I read in reviews that the flash recycle is not the greatest and therefore tried it. I really didn't notice a problem. Yes you can't take serial shots with flash and it takes couple seconds to recharge but it wouldn't be a problem for me at all. I think others might have used worse batteries, as the charger recycle depends on your battery charge. I use 2500 NiMH rechargable batteries with it and it works. The camera feels ... Read More:

88.Canon EW60C Lens hood for EF28-80mm f3.5-5.6/2, U/4, U/5, EF28-90 f4.0-5.6 II, U/2 from: Canon

the end of the lens rotates, so this hood cannot have the nice petal shape. it also has to cope with the full range of focal lengths. after all these compromises, it probably is not worth the bother - it does not offer much shade for the lens.

one also has to wonder why canon cannot just bundle the hood with the lens.

I have seen the review by another Amazon user. The ml content of genuine
Canon cartridges is abismal but i have found excellent compatible cartridges @
www.advantage-online.co.uk

These cartridges contain approx 2 times the amount of ink and are cheaper
than the Canon version. Most important they work very well and there is no
difference in quality from the original.

I ordered one black and one colour and received them next day with free
postage.
