Electronics : Creative ZEN VISION:M - Digital player / radio - HDD 30 GB - WMA, MP3 - video playback - display: 2.5" - black
The Zen Vision:M entered the market pitted against Apple's enormously popular iPod. I initially opted for the Vision:M as it was slightly cheaper for the same capacity and I didn't want to become dependant on Apple's iTunes software. It was one of the better decisions of my life.

The Zen Vision:M excels at everything it does. It's 2.5" screen displays videos in vibrant and immersive colour while album art is also displayed next to the songs that is playing, something which, while simple, makes the whole experience seem somehow better. A variety of themes is also available allowing you to change the colour scheme and background to your choice.

The best part of the Vision:M however is not the display. It is the sound. ... Read More:

These are the best noise cancelling headphones I've ever tried!!!

I haven't tried the Bose QC2/3 ones, but these ones are really top notch.

Soundwise I prefer the Sennheiser PXC 250, which have a more natural and detailed sound, even when the X-Fi function is used.

Battery life is good, when you only use the noise cancelling function.

Only disadvantage is that they are rather bulky and that the second battery is very hard to remove. Also wearing comfort could be slightly improved.

Other than that, I am really happy to own them and I use them daily at work!

The good - it protects the Stone brilliantly and given that the Stone is so small it works perfectly as a means to carry it around on your denim's etc. The bad - well same as the rest of the reviewers. Not being able to see the power light is a real pain in the butt because you may have the Stone in pause mode or it may be hung up (happened to me once)or maybe you just want to see if the damn light is on or off. I took my keyring down to the engineroom (on a ship) and used a wad punch to make a neat little hole where the light is - feel much better now and with the mod it's worth an extra star. If you have a hole punch you may be able to do the same. Should have been thought of when designed and made though.

Mine has just packed up after 3 years and up till now i've had no trouble with it, the battery life was good, i used to charge it about once a week and i found the softwear easy to manage until we changed to vista. However
after being used nearly everyday it has reached the end of its natural life & has been replaced by a creative zen, the size of which makes my old zen touch seem like a house brick!

Here's my review of plus/minus points on a scale:
+3: The sound quality. Cannot be bettered, so superior to the iPod Nano in this regard that it's laughable.
+2: It charges to full very quickly, even though it's a USB charge. Seems to charge from flat to full in less than an hour which is pretty quick compared to other players.
+1: The FM radio is actually useful, much better than a lot of radios on larger players like the Zen Micro, which I struggled with.
0: Doesn't come with a mains charger. Not necessary though, as it charges from USB, but USB mains chargers are available separately.
-1: Slightly concerned about the flimsy feel of the buttons. Only a minor point, but would've been nice to have a more solid feel.
-2: Display ... Read More:

I bought this 3-pack of 'day-glo colour' skins for my Creative Zen Stone so that I could clip the player to my pocket-less clothes. The skins are made of thin rubber so they expand sufficiently to slip over the Stone.

Each skin has a separate long plastic clip which slots into a pocket on the back of the rubber skin. (Whoever designed it clearly didn't compare it to the iPod Shuffle's clip mounting, since this one hangs in the opposite direction from one's belt/clothes. So switching from the iPod to the Stone I found I was replaying a track when I wanted to skip forward, and lowering the volume when I wanted to increase it. A small point but irritating.)

My complaints with these skins are twofold:
1. Although the plastic clip has small ... Read More:

Oh dear. I bought the Zen Nano to replace the generic player I had (and because the i-river player I was after was out of stock everywhere.) Firstly the earbuds were far too large for my (probably average sized) ears. Not a problem as I already had some good quality buds. Second, the FM radio didn't work. Not a peep. As I bought the Zen primarily for mp3 playback I decided against the hassle of sending it back. Another irritation was that there is no "Hold" switch - this function is accessed via the menu. On the upside, playback quality was good as was battery life. However, the final straw came when the tag that secures the battery cover broke (under normal use). Bearing in mind that the cover would be removed probably every couple of days I was expecting something a little ... Read More:

Well, I bought these because my friend had them and they were really good. I think the price is reasonable and I was over the moon when I got them as the sound was incredible and crisp. But...a couple of weeks later when I met up with my friend again she said her speakers levels are fluctuating really badly on their own (although hers are a couple of years old) and its extremely irratating. Mine are only a few weeks old and I have just noticed mine starting to do it a little. Im not sure why they are doing this but Im sadly returning mine as I cant afford to pay this much for speakers that have a 'nervous disposition' as it were.

Although, saying that I am unsure whether to get the same ones again as others who have reviewed these speakers have also notices the level ... Read More:

For me, this is a great gadget because it saves space and I can try out musical ideas without having to set up my big keyboard, which I have to stow away due to space restrictions.

However, please note there ARE NOT and WILL NOT BE any Vista drivers for this unit - I've had this from Creative themselves, as far as they're concerned this is no longer a current product. On the web forums I have read that some people have got it working on Vista using XP drivers; I've had no luck with this so far. Under XP though it's fine:

Good points: Nice looking unit, works well, works as a MIDI keyboard in 'pro' music applications (Cubase etc.), velocity sensitive keys, octave shift buttons.

Bad points: PC keyboard has short-travel keys rather like a laptop but ... Read More:
