Having read 2 reviews about the great quality of sound I was disappointed with the 'boxiness' of Creative Inspire 265. They were not as clear as my previous 9 year old speakers. Undoubtedly at £11 they represent great value for money but at best the quality of sound is no more than acceptable. You get what you pay for.

This is my 4th Creative player, as part of the anti ipod brigade I've always found Creative to be the best alternative. I decided to get this (my current other player is the fantastic Vision: M) purely for my (rather lengthy) commute to work. It gets thrown around in my bag so I didn't want a screen as it would only get scratched, and really, why do you need one anyway if it's not also a video player? I wanted a fair amount of memory (4 gig is plenty). I also didn't want an expensive player just in case it gets lost/stolen/dropped underneath the train. This ticked all boxes and as an added bonus is like a little memory stick, it's tiny, easy to use and you can literally just plug it into you're PC and you're done. Read More:

I was deliberating for quite some time whether I should upgrade from my Zen Vision M to this and I am glad I did. The sound quality is astonishing. At first I thought it was the quality EP-830 headphones that come with the player but I stuck them in my old Zen and it's definitely the player! As other people have mentioned the X-Fi feature is a gimmick. It sounds better with it switched off even after the firmware upgrade. The only reason the Zen X-Fi doesn't get 5 stars is the hefty price tag and the new 9 button interface. The loss of touch controls is a shame, especially on a player where you can potentially have hundreds of albums to scroll through. Otherwise very satisfied indeed!

This player is obviously designed as a rival of ipod shuffle. And it's obviously better than shuffle. It's as small as shuffle and the sound is also great. But it's much cheaper than shuffle, almost 50% cheaper! And it doesn't need a software to put songs in it. Forget shuffle, zen stone is the best!

These are excellent speakers, fantastic sound, very stylish and really easy to install. The speakers have more power than most people will ever need, and are well shielded, so they can stand near the PC. Two minor points - I have a Realtek sound card, and I had to tell it there were 8 speakers, not 6, in order to get the rear speakers to play (more an issue with my card, than the speakers, but I offer this as advice to anyone wondering why they aren't getting the full surround sound). The point which knocks a star off is that the cables on the rear speakers are too short so extension cables are necessary if you want to run cables around the edge of the room and not across the floor

The armband works very well for it's purpose. It sits comfortably on my arm and doesn't move about. However it could have been designed so much better. The most obvious problem is the lack of hole to see the battery indicator (though this was easily solved with a swiss army knife) the top slider is also a little tricky to use if you cut or bite your nails short. My silicone case has also started splitting along the top seam after only 3 months of moderate use each day. It is a real shame that the case is poorly designed as I can't think of any player other than the Zen Stone that I would rather use for exercise. Hopefully alternative armbands will prove to be superior.
