I was after a camcorder to take on holiday and was looking to spend £150 - £200. Fortunately I stumbled across the Vado that cost me £79.99! Not only did I save myself some money my bag was also a lot lighter! I've taken it out on nights which is excellent as it just sits in my pocket and it's really easy to upload my videos to my PC the next day! It also doesn't require batteries which saves me a bit of cash. All in all, great fun!

This is a decent cheap camera. It supports UVC (USB video class) which is an open standard. This means you don't need to install creative's crap software, and it will work in Vista and Linux without installing any extra drivers. The sensor is 640x480 at 30 fps (and some imaginary extra pixels for photos). This is very decent for the price and easily good enough for use as a webcam; the network will be the limiting factor for image quality. The camera doesn't have a great depth of field but the manual focusing ring is easy enough to adjust so it's not much of a problem. Video is smooth and the delay/latency is actually pretty good. It is a little difficult to get your MP3 player in the case, granted but once in, it is very secure and the buttons are still very easy to operate. It is a shame you can't see the screen, but people seem to be forgetting that if you are running, or at the gym that it is fairly unlikely that you will want to look at it if you are really concentrating on your exercise... most people set up a playlist before they start jogging or whatever... I have not had problems with the armband slipping but it is gently fiddly doing it up. I have had many armband/mp3 players before and this seems to be no different. I bought the Creative EP510 earhook earphones to use with my Zen because the phones that came in the Zen pack, although good, kept falling out. Having used many earphone types I have very surprised at how good the EP510's are. The frequency response for such a small earpiece is excellent,no tinny hiss and good bass reproduction, much better than earphones costing twice as much. I originaly bought these as 'cheapies' just to see if the earhook style was comfortable before buying a better pair. Having found that the fit suited me I bought some more expensive earphones, Philips SH8000/00's - a bad move. for the price dont think you could do much better. the sound quality is excelent,(lots of bass) and it's built to high quality. it was very easy to set up, and delivered in 2 days. overall it was a great buy for the price.

This has been excellent for transferring music (LP, CD or cassette) from a HiFi amplifier to a laptop, as wav, wma or mp3 files. It includes software to remove tape hiss, etc and a timer to start recording. For some reason, my system only works when you use "mic" input and not "line in". Also to hear what is being recorded through the laptop speakers, you have to tick both the "Analyze" and "Hiss removal" boxes in the "Record Now" section. It does more or less the same as a Sound Card, but Sound Cards for laptops are very expensive (compared with desktop).

I've seen a number of complaints about this but I don't see the problem here. I've been using this for about four months now and I have no complaints. The wire management system is simple, intuitive and has saved me many frustrating minutes of disentangling headphone wires. The lack of plastic in the screen hole actually makes it easier to take the skin on and off, which is also a bonus. If you want to protect the screen there are plenty of better options than an integrated plastic sheet, such as the plastic films also available on this site (and also highly recommended). I bought this with the sole intention of using it with my laptop for DJ'ing. I had previously just used the laptop's built in sound and wasn't impressed with the overall sound, too bright. This little gem sounds superb, a nice balanced sound that made my laptop sound a lot more professional. I was worried that the USB would add latency and cause trouble with outputting 4 hours non stop music, I needn't have worried, the Sound Blaster handled it all without any trouble. Well pleased!!
