After reading the previous good reviews I decided to buy two of these for my 2 PCs running on windows XP. got on a flying start with first PC, then second PC CD drive don't work ( can't be bother to fix it)so I had to connect with my wired router to internet for windows to download automatically drive and Hey Presto, even the second PC connection was up and running in few minutes! Great product, definetely easy and quick to use and very good connectivity so far never dropped the connection ! A must and very affordable item for wireless connection!

Having two pcs using USB Wifi dongles for over a year and having nothing but bother with my wireless network i added another pc using one of these cards. It was 100% reliable in the new machine so i have now upgraded the other two machines to these aswell. Can't fault it. The connection has never dropped since switching. It never used to last an hour without some sort of hang up or disconnection before. The unit supplied does not come with the antenna attached directly to the rear of the card as pictured, it comes with a 'remote' antenna on a cable so it can be positioned on the desk or somewhere with better reception than the back of your base unit. With three antennas on the card (and a 1000W power supply on my desktop) I expected it to have excellent signal. Instead, it catches a weak signal. The Edimax Wireless utility is not the most intuitive one and I am not sure about its quality. I have a MIMO router and a laptop with an internal mini-PCI card reports an excellent signal in the same spot.

I bought this product on the basis of Hampshire Lad's review, as I have a similar setup - a PC & laptop both running XP, a laptop running Vista and a Canon Pixma ip4500 printer. My installation experience, however, was not that smooth and I nearly gave up - but I did finally get it all working and my/my children's computers can now print wirelessly and get printer status info (ink levels, paper out, etc). This very small and compact unit works well. It was easy to physically set up. The software loaded perfectly and the (fairly) easy-to-follow installation program did the business nicely. I checked their website first to ensure that my multi-function printer/scanner would work and it was fine! I can now scan and print easily and effectively from three different computers and laptops in my household. Unlike some previous reviewers, I have not found any issues with slow response for printing or scanning. The bi-directional print communications between the printer and the computer does take a few seconds to engage, so the print job might well start before the PC can detect how much ink is left etc. This is not a problem! I now have both my PC's and my XBox360 connected to one monitor and monitor speakers. For the XBOX360 the switch over is manual, but for the PC no problems with hot-key switching. All the cables I needed came with the unit. I did have to download the lastest driver (2.XX)from Edimax website for the switch box (which showed VISTA driver only) but works fine on my XP OS. Now I get the full functionality as shown/described in the manual. It works great and I am very pleased. Only one down point, ergonomics... It would be more pleasing to the eye and practicle if the wires only came out on three sides or better one, (the back) rather than all sides as it is a bit of an octopus with legs to leave anywhere ... Quick installation guide is written in such bad English it's barely comprehensible so if you're not experienced with WAPs you're going to be tearing your hair out. I got it working with my Draytek router (eventually), but it seems to average at 40% packet loss which makes it agonisingly slow most of the time. Thought it might be a linux problem but, no, it sux on Windoze too. It's set up according to their helpline's instructions so I suppose this is as good as it gets. Looking at it nervously and waiting for it to clap out altogether. The one thing to be said for it is that the phone support was good. That'll teach me to buy cheap wireless equipment.
