Similar to others, I was fed up with downloading and then ripping videos to DVDs so I looked into the HDD media player market. This device was easy to setup and now that I have applied the two fireware upgrades it does pretty much everything I need. It has played all video types I've thrown at it which seems to be a problem with some other similar devices out there. I use the record feature to record TV shows for the kids which works fine. Overall for the money you really can't go wrong.

Amazing Amazon !! I ordered this Friday lunch-time and it arrived Saturday 9.55 a.m.!! Thats what I call service. Opened box, inserted installation disc and dongle and within minutes up and running! Yes the joystick does take a little getting used to but with more practice I will overcome. Nice sturdy piece of equipment and comfortable to use on the lap. Using vista media centre on my Sony HD TV, this is the perfect partner for this system. Certainly can recommend it. Thanks Amazon.

Firstly the good things: The picture quality when playing back DivX movies, which is solely what I'm using it for, is excellent. I am using the component outputs, as I have an HD TV. The picture is crisp and full of detail, and with no juddering, as one sometimes gets playing the same file off a DVD or CD. The playback is better quality than my Humax HD recorder. The installation of the HD is very simple, and worked faultlessly. It has no trouble playing back movies from any source on my network - all with great picture quality.
