Bought this for my daughter's 16th birthday. She thinks it's "Really good". Doesn't come with a protective case, so view screen gets a bit smudgy with fingerprints and pocket lint. Put simply, this piece of equipment does not function. My Ipod is not charging up when plugged in - which is the only reason I bought it. Frustrating.

I bought the camera just 2 years ago, it has been kept in a padded camera case and carefully used by my wife for family and holiday photographs. It has now developed a fault with the lens operating system and the protective shutters across the lens do not open. I have e-mailed Fuji support for advice but not received a reply. This has been a disappointment since the camera performed well and was easy and straightforward to operate. The photographs were of excellent quality. Be aware that when you order this card you are likely to receive a type M/H card and not the the standard xD card as illustrated! Type M/H cards are compatible with most - BUT NOT ALL - xD digital camera. Check out the Fujifilm (or Olympus) website to check compatibility for your particular camera. Digital cameras over 3 years old may not be fully compatible. I was lucky, the card works in my 3 year old Olympus C750 - although it is a bit slower that the standard xD card. If you enlarge the picture of the xD card you will see an illustration of the standard card that you should receive - not the type M/H that you will actually receive. Amazon should update their page for this item as soon as possible. You have been warned!

I've been a longtime user of Fujifilm cameras and this was an upgrade after I gave the previous one to my wife. It combines point and shoot on the Auto setting plus all the other possibilities that an SLR might offer. Regarding picture quality: at first I worried that there was a focusing error because in some images the extreme right-hand side of the frame tended to blur slightly but I am relieved that this was due to camera shake (the camera is sensitive to this) rather than an internal defect. In Standard picture quality mode the images tend to err on the colorless side; this is easily rectified by switching to Chrome.
