When I bought the radio I thought it looked a bit plasticy and some of the buttons a unnecessarily chunky but I have got used to it and its grown on me.

There is an option to stand the radio vertically with the mono speaker positioned at the top. In this position the power and headphone sockets cannot be accessed and the aerial cannot be angled at a fully 90 degrees but its not really a major problem. This `portrait' orientation could be useful if the radio is to be located in a confined space or there is a need to improve the sound projection (in my opinion the radio actually looks better this way).

There is no alarm or sleep functions and therefore I wouldn't recommend it as a bedside radio.

The sound ... Read More:

Bought this to replace a broken (different) one; use it in the bathroom for those long dips in the tub. Used it a couple of times and it does the job, simple as that.

Only use the wind up function and it holds the charge longer than the old radio used to, I presume this is due to technology advancing, so I get more radio time for my exertions!

Great piece of kit, well worth the money.

I have just received this as a present to ourselves for use on holiday, at home, away in hotels. And it seems just great. It feels very well made - robust and good quality but still compact enough. It is easy to use with a very good FM reception - better than our portable Sony. And the sound quality is really superb for the size of the radio.

The designer should be really pleased with themselves, and we look forward to years and years of no batteries, using the solar power, wind-up, and mains rechargable options as convenient. 5 stars plus!

I was thrilled when I received this little radio. Easy to crank, works immediately with very clear sound Can even charge your mobile phone with it, if no mains power available. I'm lucky and have a standard Nokia phone but you may have to purchase the necessary connectors for others phones. Not supplied with a mains charger, but haven't yet needed that as so easy to crank and is also solar powered. The flashlight is incredibly bright. The casing feels very robust and is small enough to slip in your pocket.Very easy to tune in and great volume. Having so many power cuts this is going to be a great companion for me in blackouts. So much cheaper than having to buy batteries. Ideal for anyone whether at home or on the move. It works really well in my caravan ... Read More:

I bought this hoping it would provide a permanent solution to endless battery buying. In the event, I was very disappointed. The torch refused to hold its charge, even after being charged overnight using the computer, particularly galling if you're out on your own, at night, in unlit roads, as I was. The manufacturer claims a 30 second wind gives 10 minutes light but in my experience, several minutes wind gave only a couple of minutes. Also, the on-off switch was faulty, would sometimes refuse to switch on, would not switch from one setting to another, and would then refuse to switch off. I really wanted this torch to work. Sadly it failed to and I sent it back for a refund.

After loads of searching, this fit the bill perfectly, with very bright light from a lot less winding than other brands.

On camping trip it did not let me down and provided ample light inside tent and very good to use as torch when setting off to washrooms...

Not too bid or heavy and quiet wind - won't disterb others too much.
