I have had my house party II for a couple of years now and only used it occasionally on holiday or when working away. It had worked perfectly fine and I was greatly pleased, but! .... I too have begun to experience the large and very annoying "popping" noise between tracks, so much so that I can no longer enjoy my music. To my reckoning I have only used my speaker system less than 100 hours before this started to happen. A great shame because before the popping started I would have gladly recommended this product, now i doubt if i will ever buy another gear 4 product.

Got this to use with ipod touch as the only thing that lacks is a speaker, if you want to show someone a video with sound, play a track, etc. without them having to use your headphones. Sound quality not bad for such a small unit although comes away easily from dock if knocked. Plenty small enough for carrying around. Would recommend for this very reason.

i bought this speaker a few weeks ago and i am very happy with it. i had been searching for a speaker for ages for my ipod nano and this was a good price for what it is. it goes extremly loud, so loud that i haven't managed to go to the maximum volume yet as i feared for my eardrums (they do come in useful now and then). there is one small promblem that it makes a small thud sound before the song starts but it is not annoying and does not affect the music and may only be on my speaker i don't know, perhaps not good for travelling as it would take up quite a bit of space but not heavy at all and very good sound quality. very good choice and the control works very well, even through windows.
