I got this unit a few weeks ago the day before a week's holiday in North Wales. Good to go straight out of the box. Full instructions included but not really needed too much. First of all, it found the remote Welsh cottage with no problems then found local POI's eg swimming pool, beaches, etc. Beaches were recommended to me by friends so just put in name and it directed me to them with clear voice and visual instructions. (Welsh names sound great when pronounced by a computer!) I found the street name being announced useful. It does tend to take you via the most direct route which may mean narrow country lanes but if you don't want to go this way then keep driving and it re-routes you. I did quite a bit of research as I have never owned a satnav before and chose this one as the best featured value for money. I was a bit put off by the very poor reviews above but went ahead anyway. That has proved to b a good decision. I have been using this now for about a month in car and on foot in the UK (including pedestrian in London) and have just returned from my annual Le Mans 24 trip having used it to get to all of my hotels. It can be fiddly inputting French addreses. The auto search facility and the POI locater works well here. It is very fast at recalculating the route if you go wrong or just deliberately ignore the prompts. Satellite acquisition is very quick if you switch on at the same location you switched off.
