I bought the 305 mainly because I wanted wireless Cadence and a Heart Rate Monitor on the same machine, to keep me inline with training goals over the winter. Set-up of the gear was easy, it does what it says during training, and the analysis options on the provided software allow you to track and log your training efficiently. Having a large customisable display makes it perfect for my training. The GPS is a bonus to me - I haven't really made the most of it, but look forward to programming some routes when the summer returns. Safe to say, I'm happy with my purchase!

Having lost my GPS60CSx in France earlier this year I decided on the Colorado as a replacement. I took this unit to Everest Base Camp and loaded it with the relevanty TOPO maps. I found that I needed several sets of batteries a day with each set lasting around three hours which meant that tracking was an expensive luxury. Also the unit would switch off for no reason. Whilst I like the large display it is dim unless you ramp up the backlight which drains the batteries. I was getting twenty hours plus out of my old 60CSx and I am condidering downgrading. My advice is to wait and see if they improve the performance before buying.
