I bought this camera just for home use... I travel a lot and wanted to keep a reassuring eye on my home and pets (fish.... before anyone calls the RSPCA). As a result. reviews about the noisy motor and the restrictions on users that can connect to it didn't really bother me too much. Was does bother me, now that I have the product, is the unreliability of the wireless connection. I have played with the settings, reduced the image quality, changed the image type etc and I am lucky if I can connect to the camera 1 out of 3 attempts before it times out. It seems to lock up pretty often as well so even after I have made the connection simple tasks like changing the camera angle seem to lock it out. Sometimes closing my browser allows ... Read More:

Firstly two things to note: 1) The extension lead supplied stopped it working - it needed plugging straight in. 2) If you are running Windows XP - IGNORE the instructions. For XP - the WEP will fail to work if you install their software - so it you have installed it - go to settings/add/remove software and get rid of it. Plug it in and let windows ask you for a driver. Put in the CD and close any setup program that appears. Navigate to the drivers folder on the CD and use those. Then it works fine under Xp, nice and fast.

this my third switch and it is the best of the lot.the cables are thin but no video loss and it switches over every time first time. The supplier gave 5 star performance! BUY IT!

It appears Linksys (cisco) do not recognise the fact that browsers other than IE exist. If you try to set this up using the web interface (essential for Linux) using Opera, Firefox, or Konquerer will all crash the server. You must us Internet Explorer, which you might not have installed. If you use Windows make sure you set this up with IE as you will have headaches otherwise. There is little warning of this and the lack of multifunction printer support in the product description.

I bought this from amazon and it arrived today, setting up was a bit of a nightmare, a word of warning, before disconnecting your old modem find whatever information you can about the settings you will need for your service provider even if you have to trawl thru the internet for a hour or two to find out what information you need, i found that out the hard way.. once set up it seems to work absolutely fine, my pc is running ok with this modem/gateway altho i cannot check my xbox 360 as xbox live is down for today. it looks aweful, like a kids toy but as long as it does the job then thats really all that matters

Knowing of Linksys as part of well respected Cisco I expected top quality kit and bought several for church, work, home etc but ALL of them took ages to configure and ALL failed within a matter of weeks probably because they run VERY hot. Not recommended.

Despite being an IT professional with years experience of networking kit, I've never used Linksys stuff before and I doubt I would again. A friend wanted me to setup a wireless network for him so I picked what looked like the best value stuff. I've now had two of these kits from Amazon and both have developed exactly the same fault. They are dead easy to setup and get working and when they do work it's all fine. Only problem is they just randomly stop working and then thats it, you can't even connect to them using a cable. Reboots sometimes fix it for a few minutes but they are just to un-reliable. A search of the net shows others with the same problem and no response from Linksys which is a shame as some of their other ... Read More:
