In my opinion this is a great looking device and is a real improvement from the previous Linksys design. Installation was a breeze with the software provided and took next to no time at all to set up a secure network. I have found signal strength to be excellent. My only grip is the price so I have knocked off a star.

i bought this for our student suniona nd it works fantastically. set up was instantaneous and its worked fantastically well. i have yet to have a problem with it. it's range seems to be VERY good. and certainly a good 40m within a very densely constructed building. well worth the minimal investment.

I am not computer savvy and I found the Linksys WUSB54G Wireless-G USB adapter very easy to set up. And it connected immediately to my Linksys Wireless router. If I can get it to work, anyone should be able too. It is not as fast as being direct connected via wire, but it worked just great for me. I have been very satisfied with it. I only notice the slower rate of transfer when I have a large download. But I usually use this computer just as a remote terminal and not my main computer. I find that it is fine for browsing, sending e-mails and updating websites. Note; this review does not address a situation where you may want to use it to play a graphic intensive online game. I used this item to expand my wireless range on the WRT54GC router. My house is full of 2 foot walls, large fishtanks and heavy insulation; it's not the kind of conditions you want for wireless internet. My connection was very bad in some areas of the house but in most it was the speed that suffered and packets were lost all over the place. I was getting a speed of (at most) 24mbps in the room directly above the router (about 3 meters away) When i put the antenna on there was no instant difference, probably the laptop not responding quickly enough, after a 2min wait I checked again. I was still getting 4 bars of signal but the speed had increased from 24mbps to the full 54mbps. However, in the corners ... Read More:

AOL will tell you this is not suitable for their service...it is! It is also a lot more stable and reliable than the Thompson rubbish you get as part of their package :) The faults: It drops the line now and then....sometimes twice a day! sometimes it will go a week, but when it drops it means a reboot. Also the wireless can stop responding after a while (usually once a week) and again this will mean a reboot! The good bits: Range is ok and with the addition of a range booster I am running 4 wired computers and 6 wireless - in two buildings! It can be wall mounted and is quite small (but not really stylish) It is straight forward to set up! I have used this router/confiq now for 2 years.....if you are prepard ... Read More:
