Loving the touch controls on this frame, which light up blue when your fingers come into contact with the frames control base. The image quality is good and I like the black shiny frame. It's a simple and elegant design which I like, and is definitely more suited to me than the 8 inch frame that nix make which seems more targeted at people who want every feature possible. This frame is definitely for people like me who want something that just displays my photos, yet is elegant and well designed. There are extra features, like MP3 music playback, clock, calendar, auto power on/off. Personally I don't use most of these features, but they're there if you want them and I have to admit I haven't fully tested them, though no problems ... Read More:

We had been looking round for a few months for a digital photo frame but they all seemed rather old fashioned. We read the remarks regarding this particular frame and felt that this one was worth trying. It looks good; is very stylish and modern; and very easy to operate. We were concerned about the negative comments regarding the slide show feature re-starting at the beginning each time it is turned off, but we have found we can start the slide show from any picture using the thumb nail feature, so we haven't found it a problem. Not sure about the touch features as this smears the frame; much better to use the the remote, although this seems a bit flimsy, (this is only a small niggle.) I was in a shop looking for a digital photo frame and told a shop assistant I was looking for something different from everything else, that was also modern & stylish. The shop assistant suggested I have a look at the new nix that had just arrived. They had just taken delivery and hadn't even got them on display yet. When I first saw the box I was a little dubious with a picture of a flat screen tinted mirror frame on the front of the box, but after he removed it from the box and I had a look I was really impressed. we plugged it in and inserted a memory card and immediately it started a slide show of photos. First I bought the HannsG 7 inch frame because I thought it was the cheapest Hi-Res 7 inch frame on the market, only it isn't a Hi-Res frame which I realised after I received it. So I returned the HannsG and got this NIX instead, and the NIX TS07HR one really is Hi Resolution. Long story short it does everything as advertised: it's got a really good hi resolution screen and the difference between a Hi resolution screen and a standard screen is huge. Personally I wouldn't bother with a frame with a standard screen after having seen both. It's got a handy remote control, plays music and is easy to use. I purchased this for a present more because of the frame than anything else we have a lot of good quality pine in our home and from the photo I thought this would fit in well. But I was very surprised especially after reading one of the earlier reviews. To me the frame is more like plastic than a solid wood as far as the technical stuff is concerned did not get that far as the frame was enough to put me off am now trying to get a refund as sent it back be warned the photo is deceiving!!!

When you're shopping for a digital photo frame, only two criteria matter. The way the frame looks, and the way your photos look, displayed on the frame. If I were rating the Nix on the former, it would have received full marks. Apart from a slightly flimsy plastic stand, the build quality is superb: on par with that of a decent static frame you'd buy for your non-digital pics. In any case, a leather finish is quite unusual for digital frames, and this one surpasses the quality I've seen on comparable units. On the tech side too, Nix have obviously gone to some trouble to produce a decent frame. I'd been looking for ages for a photo frame with a leather look that would actually match my other picture frames and general apartment furnishings. Also my biggest bugbear is that most frames have that annoying plastic dot on the frame which I think is for the remote control receiver. on this model they seem to have done the sensible thing and done away with the remote control and made the frame nice and smooth without the plastic remote sensor. nix seem to have gone for the stylish yet simple approach, acknowledging that I only want to see my photos on this and not watch movies or listen to music (that's what my bose hi-fi and sony tv is for).
