Terrible router. I paid seventy quid for mine and i swear i cant stay connecteted to the internet for more than ten minutes.

If you use firefox, get used to seeing "problem loading page".

Did anybody actually test this piece of crap before they decided to ship them across the world. I wouldn't mind but its not like it has to do anything else.....just connect and stay connected to the internet.

The last Netgear item i ever buy.

Good Luck.

I must warn people not to buy this router if you have power problems. The first router I had arrived and the setting up was so simple and quick. It was the hub of my home network allowing me to share my computers and devices without complications. The performance was good in being a modem/router and wireless but there is achillies heal. It dont like power cuts and as I live in a rural place we seem to get a quite a few through out the year.

The first time I experience it just didnt know what to do as it doesnt reset just acts dead. I unplug it and had to use an old modem as I need an internet connection at all times. After I finished what I was doing I decided to fiddle with it and it came back on. Unfortunely the next power cut kill ... Read More:

Basically, if you order one of these and you own a 360, you're in for pain. I have to unplug my 360 when I'm not using it, as it interferes with this router. If you leave your router up and running for a couple of days, and leave your 360 on, the wireless side because unusable, with a high percentage of packet loss. Also, if you don't have a MIMO adpater for your PC, the signal strength is less than impressive. Think the DG834GT is probably a better option.

I brought this after some consideration to get my Wii connected to the internet, i was worried about if it would work straight out of the box.

Shouldn't have worried as i plugged one into my router via the supplied LAN cable and plugged it into the wall switched on. I then went to the living room, plugged the LAN cable into the Wii USB LAN adaptor and the other end into the Netgear which went straight into the wall and switched on. After three or four minutes they had found each other, the Wii connected to the internet and that was it.

No updating, no playing with settings - worked straight out of the box (didn't even read the instructions)

Make sure you have a least Cat 5e cabling though.

After a day of struggling with a cheap modem, I bought the Netgear. I unpacked it, plugged it in, entered my username and password....and it connected immediately. What more can you say?

Actually, what you can say is that the autosetup wizard only works for Windows, and Mac and Unix users will have to hunt through the PDF manual to find the IP address you need to enter your details (the html help screens are utterly useless). But if you have a PC then this modem is the mutt's nuts.

Have been using this adapter on a desktop pc with windows XP and the standard extension cable for over a year with no problems. Installed the software on two desktops and it worked fine with both, talking to the netgear router it came bundled with. Since we upgraded to WPA encryption, I needed to purchase another for a second desktop machine, as the old card couldn't support higher encryption. After much deliberation, I opted again for this adapter. I've just plugged it straight in with the existing software from the previously purchased adapter and its working fine.

It sounds like the more recent problems people have had are because of drivers. I've not had that because I'm using the software I installed about 18 months ago, rather than the software that is still ... Read More:

I have had this phone (with extra handset) for about a year.

As soon as I bought it I identified a number of issues, some of which have been discussed in other reviews. I have raised all of them with NetGear support and none of them have been resolved. I have dealt with many 'bad service' organizations before, but NetGear's support of this product is special in that it is exists as bunch of resources (off shore) but it does not exist as support. People acknowledge the support requests but never, ever address the problem. They also have a neat trick whereby they close the request automatically after a period of inactivity (their inactivity).

The phone itself has the following issues:

Caller ID is supported, but the phone does not look up the ... Read More:
