For 1p this usb card and driver disc is worth erm every penny.. bit tricky to install as cut out in board was a little tight on PC plug-board but it eventually clicked home with a mighty shove. Windows loaded it's own drivers which can be finnicky when it comes to recognising devices plugged into the USB ports so I installed the supplied drivers over the top of the windows ones and all USB objects are now recognised at boot or when brought into use. I have to say the speed of this card is fantastic I transferred a 700 MB file in just over a minute - which is approx ten times faster than my previous card. All in all a very good purchase - Highly delighted.

Firwire card supplied was:-Syba NEC D72874 3+1 Port PCI FireWire 1394a Controller Card w/ Cable (SD-NEC-4F). This Firewire card comes with Ulead VideoStudio 7 basic and 4-6 pin cable. Installation is easy, no extra drivers required (win2K) plug and play finds 1394 card, and installs correct driver. I had problems when camcorder was not reconised, this turned out to be a faulty (supplied) cable. E-mail to Beaufort cutomer service, new cable sent promptly, and all working fine.

Arrived as usual with Amazon before I expected it, fitted it in minutes, booted up XP which found it and loaded drivers. Has now worked perfectly providing rapid downloads to a Zen Micro for several months and it was £10! Magic.

I bought this to connect up my digital camcorder to my laptop in order to transfer the video across and it works perfectly. The product is perhaps not of the very best quality, but at the price it is a very good investment, if only as a short-term measure.

For the increasing number of Windows iPOD users out there looking for a good value combo drive that works I can strongly recommend the Nisis Combo Card. Nisis cards are well made and this is no exception. It is half the price of some of its competitors and works perfectly with Apple's iPOD. It provides 2 external USB2 and 2 external IEEE 1394 ports and a further one of each internally on the card itself. For a device that you do not want to keep connecting or disconnecting these could even be used for an external device. The documentation is excellent - one CD-ROM drive with full documentations and one CD-ROM with all the installation drivers. For Windows 2000 you need to have Service Pack 4 installed before you attempt to install the iPOD software but the ... Read More:

I got this card to download video from my Samsung DV Camera. The card went in easily enough. Didn't need to install the drivers, XP did it itself. The video software with it works well too. Just a little confusing at first but you get the hang of it. An all round brilliant and cheap product. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to transfer video. Haven't tested an iPod with it yet but I hope it works. If I could I would give this product 9 stars :-)
