This product is a wee gem, not only can you plug 8 appliances into it but it also has anti-surge built in as well. Once programmed(which is simple)to detect your TV, put it on standby and within 30secs the intellipanel switches power off to everything except your PVR(BT Vision/Sky+ etc). The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is because the first one I got developed a fault after a couple of days, switching itself on and off all the time. The replacement has been trouble free. Great item!!

This product does not work properly with a Mac Mini. You have to shut down the whole computer to make the peripherals turn off. If the computer simply goes into sleep mode, the intellipanel keeps waking the computer up again. A shame, because this is a great idea, but I'm going to give mine away to someone who owns something other than a Mini. Amazon should make it clear that this "Desktop" product is not compatible with the Mini, as most people would class the mini as a desktop.

I baught this item cos I was doing a mame converstion.. so I needed a one button start up function.. looked everywhere for something like this.. B&Q, homebase Maplin, ebay.. then somehow i saw this.. baught one and it works like a charm.. all did is turned the pc on and the speakers, Marquee light and monitor comes on 5 secs after.. exactly what I wanted to do.. then I baught the item again.. cos of my TV room.. seeing as the living cos was going up.. needed to save some money on electric bill.. this works for TV and sKY, surround sound systems ect too.. god bless !

As a computer user for business purposes but always looking to minimise costs I was forever complaining to my wife and teenage daughter about leaving their computers on standby along with other countless items around the home. I have my laptop running through a docking station, connected to which I have a monitor, USB HUB, print server, printer, 2 external HD's,speakers all of which are left on a lot of the time.....I know I shouldn't but I just get up walk out the room and leave them all on. This gadget shuts them all down, 30seconds after either, switching off my laptop or even just putting it in standby. Fantatstic! I have not worked out the cost savings vs. purchase price, but even just the convenience of everything being switched off automatically is worth the purchase fee alone. Two gripes.....1) i bought in John lewis and consequently paid £4 more grrr. 2) The USB-to power lead is only 1.5m long which is considerably shorter than my laptop power ... Read More:
