After trawling through the internet and finding which bluetooth unit to buy, the only option was a parrot based one. However, the choice between a 3000 & 3100 LCD versin was the fact that I could see if the mother-in-law was calling !!!! I purchased the CK3100 and a loom for my stereo and they arrived within 24hrs. Being quite a technical person installation was very straight forward. If you are handy with a screwdriver and take care on removing facias etc then this is a straight forward job. I located all the cables and control units by removing my glove box and putting them out of sight. The Parrot is a good unit when it works, but unfortunately does not seem to function correctly all of the time. When it works, the sound is clear, and the person at the other end can hear you clearly enough. The main issues I have had with the unit is that it cannot seem to remember the voice tags I've recorded to it, and it gets confused - not even with names that sound alike. It also intermittently has problems with the phone pairing - so will not actually output the sound on the handsfree unit. The problems don't happen alot, but it is unpredictable as to when it will happen, which can get quite frustrating. as said before, when the box is opened your first thought is oh my god, but very easy, plugs only go one way, make sure you tape up the loose ends that are not required, had a problem on citroen berlingo as orange cable remains live for a minute after turning off the key, although the unit was switched off each time i returned to the van as soon as the central locking was operated it came on, thoughts of flat batteries ensued, parrot were excellent, emailed back within hours and said it needed connecting differently, direct to a switched supply, something about a data bus system used by citroen. now on switch off it says disconnected and then goodbye straight away. their web site has a very good information forum. reception and operation seem fine, all callers say ... After initailly recieving my first unit, i had to return it, as it locked up on a regular basis. When i recieve my replacement unit, it paired and synchronised my phone book as per the instructions. I have used the unit now for a number of weeks and am pleased with its performance, the sound is reasonably good and battery life excellent. One slightly annoying issue is the "Voice recognition" engine, it sometimes struggles with my northern dialect and i find myself having to speak in a more electro-synthetic style to get the unit to recognise the tag. Unpacked it and found in the box a brief user guide, a USB cable and an in-car charger. After charging it like the manual says I turned it on and it immediately detected both out Nokia E51 and Sony-Erikson K800. The phones prompt you to accept the connection and, after entering the code (its in the manual,)its paired and downloads all of the contacts (it can take up to 5 handsets). This is now my 3rd Parrot hands free kit and I wouldn't look at any other option. Its very well priced (so well in fact I tend to leave them in my car when I sell and treat myself to a new one!), has great features, sound quality and with the right adapter is easy to fit. Its best features are it comes on with your ignition, automatically pairs with your phone, offers voice dialling, answering, along with magic word recognition. It even replays your recorded voicetag of the person calling. You just leave youre phone in your pocket and forget its there :-) I favour this CK3000 evo model as its more discreet. (make sure you get the Evo version though!) Excellent value for money
