I purchased MacSpeech Dictate 2 weeks ago and it came with the Plantronics Audio 400 DSP. It has been a disappointment that an excellent program has decided to associate with such a poor and unreliable product. I agree with the previous review that it does not fit well and slides off during use. Furthermore being foldable one expects it to be used while 'on the road' but after a few trips it stopped working. It has been inaccurate in translating speech into words. It has been a terrible disappointment and I would not recommend it definitely.

The first headset suffered poor quality - sound breaking up so I contacted Plantronics and they arranged a replacement no quibbles. The down side is that the replacement does the same :o( The unit is very comfortable, very light, pairs easily with everything - three phones, PDA, computer, but the sound quality is poor and constantly breaks up like a mobile in a poor reception area.

You need to get this mic. 10 cm infront of your mouth to be heared by others in skype. It will go on your nervs, dont buy it.

Covers on ear pieces do a good job of reducing but not eliminating background noise - if you want that you need noise cancelling headsets, I didn't. The only slight problem is that your ears will get warm (and perhaps sweaty) if using it for a long period - this is the nature of most closed cup headsets though so once again you need to purchase with your eyes open.

My review here is really from an angle of what I was using before the 590A and also my expectations of the 590A. I was using the Phillips SBC-HC8402, it's basically a big pair of headphones that fit around your ears and an FM transmitter (no microphone, and the transmitter just takes 3.5mm input). I was hoping to leap into Bluetooth with the 590A and that it would give me what my old Phillips had (using the universal adapter) plus a good gamers headset, and headset for my phone. I was wrong. Problems... 1) I found the headset had far too much bass, whether over Bluetooth or using the wired cable.
