Like another reviewer, I couldn't believe how measly the initial sound output was on my ipod. Unless the room was absolutely still, you could barely hear it. Then I discovered that the EU has imposed sound limiters on such devices. A quick download of a free program called GoPod (on the Mac, PC users need something different) that removed this and suddenly the PocketParty was doing exactly what I had hoped, giving audible sound at a reasonable quality so I can listen to the ipod moving around at home without having to wear headphones.

I've had two, which I wanted to use on holiday, therefore infrequently. Both started smoking badly, one when it wasn't even turned on. The first I returned to the on-line shop and got a replacement very quickly & efficiently. The second was outside warranty, although used only three or four times. I complained to Gear4, who couldn't even bother to reply. TO BE AVOIDED!

Yes, indeed this is like a flak jacket for your iPod mini, however what it fails to mention is that it's like your iPod wearing a flak jacket that's two sizes too big for it. Although it does indeed seem to fit snugly into the case when it's open, the cover is not flush to the front of the iPod, meaning that it moves about inside the case. This either means that the iPod slips to the front of the case, so the various bits and bobs at the top and bottom of the iPod are inaccessible, or that it leaves a large gap at the front of the case when it slips to the back. There are far better cases available. Go and get one of those instead.
