Must have had this DAB in car radio about a year now so I reckon I am in a good position to provide an objective review so here it is. As other reviewers have pointed out the aerial is sub-standard, you are forever loosing signal strength (I tried re-tuning as instructed but has no effect)which is really frustrating. Changing stations on the move is awkward especially if you store more than 4 stations. The set up is relatively easy but you end up with intrusive wires trailing everywhere. The arm that holds the radio to the windscreen is also poor quality constantly wobbling until mine actually broke off today!! I have owned the previous version (C6X) of the chargepak for around 2 years. Currently it gives around 15 minutes of play before it dies. When I called Pure's customer helpline, I explained that the product was out of warranty and that I appreciated that I would not be refunded. However, the lady who answered was quite defensive and explained that, as the product has a one year guarantee, Pure expect it to last only around 12 months. If this is so, then £30 seems a lot to pay for occasional use away from the mains in one year. My experience of rechargeable batteries is generally far better - mobile phones, digital cameras and multi-purpose rechargeable batteries. I bought this portable dab radio for use whilst walking and cycling, ie for outside pursuits.So I can only vouch for the performance of this device as my main use was as above. The clarity and reception of dab radio is superb with no crackling or hiss from normal FM radio, how ever this radio does not like concrete ie subways and the like. Indoors can be a problem as there can be a problem with reception as the ear phone is the aerial , this wasn`t a dissapointment as this radio is portable and in my eyes designed for out door use which suits my needs perfectly. In short I can`t understand all the negative reviews in relation to reception etc I live in London so reception is not a problem. £45 is expensive for this item as it only worked properly for about 6 months. Similar problem to other reviewers. It doesn't pick up the signal anymore or is very temperamental at best.

I was getting poor FM reception in my bedroom and wanted a dab radio with a sleep function. I tried out my Roberts dab radio there and the reception was brilliant (alas it doesn't have sleep). Thought the Siesta was the answer - it has just arrived, but on setting it up I find it gets NO Dab signal. The aerial is a flimsy little wire thing. I have tried walking around with it and even tried down the garden, but not a pip. Do not buy this radio unless you are in prime signal area.

We have this for nearly 12 months and have had no problems the alarm is great there are 4 of them great for if you work different shifts, if I have one gripe it is the remote which is great for basic functions but a pain when you want to select a preset, it is great as a bedside radio the sound quality is OK and the bass is a bit thin but what do you expect from a little unit that looks cool in black next to your bed and the iTouch looks cool except for the white docking cradle that you have to use.

I bought this as a compact occassional use cd / dab player for the bedroom, but have been so incredibly impressed with it that I have it in my sitting room! From the moment I took it out of the box, the quality just spoke volumes. Plug it in and it automatically knows the time abd the date! Brilliant search on the DAB, nothing you cant get (and I live in Devon). I have not heard any hum that others mention. The only drawback I would say is that the sound quality is very slightly tinny, but that is down to its tiny compact size. Very impressed with this, excellent quality at a very good price. I would definitely buy more Pure products.

I have had this radio in daily use for ten months now, and really, for the price I would say it is superb! I cannot understand those who say the sound quality is below par - I think the sound quality is one of its best attributes - two of my workmates have bought a Pure One after hearing mine - even at high volume its unbelievable considering it has one 3" speaker - (If you use headphones you get full stereo too). It was recently dropped from a table on to a hard floor, and is still perfect - very impressive. It has to be said that it does look a little 'plasticky', but the design is quirky and neat. The display has a very useful clock which you can always rely on as it gets a radio signal for the correct time, and has a 'timed off' function which means its only illuminated when you ... I have been using this model now for seven months,and apart from only getting about fifteen channels, when I thought I would get dozens as it's digital I am still quite pleased with it.But what really made me sit down and write this review is that I had to send it back today as it started playing up which does happen, (but you do get a two year warranty).Unfortunately you have to send it back to pure at your expense which is not cheap as you need to insure it as well for peace of mind. If you buy it from amazon like I did they will only exchange it within six months after which you will have to send it back to pure. Bear that in mind if you are buying one (it's a lot easier taking it back to a local store) under pures two year warranty.

I am a Pure fan and this is my sixth Pure digital radio. I had such high hopes. Firstly let me say that the radio or Chargepak E1 that I bought at the same time has a fault in that it will not run on battery power for more than 10 minutes - then the controls lock up. So it's going back. Pure's customer relations is creaky to say the least. I have been waiting for five days now for a return lable and still not sign despite various promises. Apart from the fault the radio sounds great and it mostly works ok. But yet again this is a wi-fi /DAB radio with a really clunky interface and quite horrible to use. My first internet/DAB was the Tangent Qauttro which outperforms this piece of junk as well as the Roberts Stream - another duff purchase - which is also crude in its operation. My simple ...
