My son (11) uses this Sansa e280 mostly for MP3s rather than video or radio (although he has few Goodies episodes loaded up and a selection of photos). The MP3/WMA music sound quality of the player is good, although we have upgraded the supplied in ear headphones to £20 over-ear Sennheiser headphones. You can expand the players 8Gb memory via a micro SD slot. Our 2Gb mSD expansion card works fine, and apparently a 1Gb card also works well, but it's possible the player won't recognise larger mSD sizes (e.g. 4Gb) - and only [MP3] music files can run from this SD card slot. The internal Li-ion battery is user replaceable and lasts ages between charges - well over ten hours and probably about 15 hours at the moment (7 months on). I can't comment ... Read More:

Well, I have to say I'm very disappointed in the Sansa... After my old IPod packed in, and tired of ITunes tying you in to their own MP3 format, I decided to try something different. I wish I hadn't! The menu is fiddly to use, the software kept doubling up on songs, some songs wouldn't delete, and then eventually the whole thing packed up completely just three months of very light use; the screen has turned completely white and will not reset. Sansa support seem unable to suggest how to fix this, so I am having to return it. I will not be asking for a replacement!

I don't see many of these and yet it is such a good idea. No need for a card reader at all, just fold it in half and plug it in to the USB port. It even has a little green light when it is in use. Superb! This is the second one I have bought.

I have bought two of these over the last couple of years for my sons, and they are still going strong. The drop on the price for this particular model to less than 40 quid has prompted me to finally get myself one. These machines are not quite the best and a little on the large side now compared to others. They can be a bit temperamental - but less so with the updated software. The fact that you can't play from folders is a bit of a pain, and they use a non standard (i.e NOT iPOD) connection at the machine end (standard USB at the PC end). So why have I purchased 3 of them? Well it's primarily because it's not an iPod, - so no iTunes DRM nonsense. I mostly prefer drag and drop - but you can use the wonderful and free Media Monkey software to synch, ... Read More:

ordered this item just over a moth ago and a few days ago it crashed!!!!! because of this my daughter lost some of her coursework as she had not got it backed up i would strongly advise you nt to buy this item

If you want a fake card, use eBay. It's cheaper and you'll get exactly what this place is offering. MagicGate is not supported, the serial number dooesn't match up, and there is a lot less storage space then aa genuine one. I will be reporting this seller to Sony.

I have the 8MB Sansa View that I bought to replace my ageing 4GB iPOD. For music its great. It has one major drawback and that is the software that you need from Sandisk to convert pictures and videos to the specific format for the player. The software (Sansa Media Converter) stops Windows Media Center (Vista) from working. Sansa do not know if it is a clash with WMC or some types of TV card. Anyways, to be able to watch TV again I have to uninstall the Sansa software. If I want to download photos or videos then I have to reinstall the Sansa software. This is a known problem according to Sandisk but they have done nothing to find a solution. In fact, everytime i raise a support case for it, they say "we are ... Read More:
