I must put out a word of caution.
I purchased this device 4 weeks ago hoping to drive a 2nd monitor from my HP pavilion dv2000 laptop. I have not yet been able to do this.
I am currently in contact with the software provider for the device (displaylink) who are very communicative and are trying to resolve the issue, but as yet are unsuccessful.
I tried the software on 3 machines all running Windows XP Pro (standard) and it only installed successfully on 1 (not the one I wanted to use). The problem lies in the install software checking your operating system to see if it is compatible. Mine is compatible, but somehow the software check fails.
I hope this is resolved soon.

Works on PC and mac (tried and tested both). Can't watch videos on it (or anything with a high refresh rate like games) but good for about everything else (viewing docs or surfing internet).

Bought one a few months ago... but Amazon only ever seems to have 0 or 1 in stock.

Mr Amazon... please get some more in - I thought this is a place where you can buy stuff?
