This are amazing earphones period. Must people use this with their ipods or any other mp3 players and must have in conscience that ripping music under 320k and playing it will loose a lot of quality (loose bass and depth), espeacially if you are using good earphones. And YES, you need to loose some time fitting them correctly. I did passed around 1hour changing and fitting and i did came to a conclusion. They really block exterior noise almost 90%. I can't hear cars on the street and i even emberaced myself a few times with people on my side talking to me and i haven't noticed. Conclusion: This are kind studio monitors: they delivery FLAT sound with no rich coloured bass (personaly i like that, and don't even bother putting bass equalization ... Read More:

Yes, as everyone is saying, this is a brilliant mic. But why? It's extremely solid, the sound quality it produces is warm and intimate, and it's great for gigging because you hardly get any feedback from a live system. And this microphone is a bargain. I've had two for several years now, and they're both still in great condition, because things just never break! Mind you, keep it in a box, preferebly in some of the original wrapping to keep the exterior finish looking sexy ;) GREAT :D

I never write reviews, but felt an obligation as these fine headphones seem to only have an overall rating of 2.5 stars - crazy!. Firstly, i'm an audio technician, so know my stuff. i won't go into detail, but they sound good, and are very well balanced (plus they get better with time!). lets face it, these are going to be used predominantly with mp3's/portable players... i challenge anyone to justify better quality with low bitrate music! on that note, the build quality is about as good as it gets - these will survive being dragged around with your ipod (even wound round it). They cost 50% more than your bog standard headphones, but produce 400% of the quality, and will physically last! On top of that, Shure has an excellent customer service if you do run ... Read More:

What's the difference between the Shure SM58 and the Shure C606?

Only the price really! This microphone delivers truely amazing sound. Why pay all that money for an SM58 when the C606 gives pretty much the same sound?

If you're looking to setup your own home studio on a small budget, or whether you just want a good priced, quality mic - then this is certainly the best option for you.

The mic has an on and off button and connects by XLR - use a mic guard and hey presto!

10 out of 10!

I've never been so split in headphones/IEM's before. like many people, I did a fair amount of studying of the various reviews, before I took the plunge.

I want to bridge the gap between the positive and negative reiviews, as i feel there are some things the Shure's do well, some not so well.

Comfort & fitting

Well, they're IEM's, so what do you expect, there's always going to be some issues. Personally speaking, with the standard olives, these stick in my ears very well. On the downside, the over-the-ear cable is uncomfortable. I haven't tried any other buds, because i haven't needed to.

Sound, in particular, BASS

This is the weirdest sensation ... what is happening with the bass? From drum and bass ... Read More:

Used most often for micing up amplifiers and musical instuments - this is a classics that's been out there with the top bands for what seems like forever - 50 years or so I'd guess. I have seen these as vocal mics - but they are mainly used as a feed from close in front of a guitar or instrument amplifier.

I've got to admit, these are VERY overrated. For my first set of 'serious' headphones, i wasn't sure what to expect, but i had high hopes after all the reviews. Unfortunately, these did not deliver at all.

I read that if you put these far into your ear, and use the sponge tips then you can get really good sound isolation and bass. This is simply not true. The bass response was terrible, and adjuting the EQ on my iPod just caused the sound to be distorted.

Even my friends could not get these to work as the reviews suggested.

After giving up and trying some Shure E3C's and E4C's, the were much better, and ultimate ears super.fi 5 pro blow these was out of the water.

I've got these earbuds two weeks ago and enjoying it now very much.

First I have difficulties with strong highs in some songs, however, when I set my ipod to sound check on the problem is solved with unwanted level of frequencies.

I mostly listen house music with 320k bit rate. I tried several options to set the eq and I found the flat setting suited me the best.

The base may not be as punchy for those who wants color, but lows are there without any doubdt.

I'm looking for an upgrade to se530 maybe in a year, and I believe it will be awesome.

Never have I come across a set of earphones before that have actually made me gasp in disbelief. These are just astoundingly good. I cannot recommend them enough. I have been using a very decent set of Sony bass-boosting earphones, which I thought were fantastic due to the lack of tinny treble, and the whomping bass. Unfortunately, they had a very high degree of distortion, as many earphones do. These Shures have hardly any distortion whatsoever. Listening to Supermassive Black Hole by Muse (a particularly difficult track to play using my Sonys), and even with the bass turned up to 11, the Shures just lap it up. Perfect sonic quality, even at loud volumes. I found this staggering, especially from a pair of earphones that have only one driver in each bud.
Another important quality that ... Read More:
