I bought this early as I am working overseas and wanted to avoid any mailing problems as this is my Xmas treat. My only slight disappointment is it has fallen by another £10 from the £175 the wife kindly paid. I also ordered a 1gb sony memeory stick to enable the BD Live facility. Anyway it arrived and connected to my 40" Sony Bravia and DSL LAN, and after a few easy steps it was updated to profile 2 and I had a quick peek at the BD live bit on the Iron Man BD disc. As for picture quality it was superb (pores on faces individual hairs showing, hugely greater clarity etc) and the sound through my lower end Pioneer dvd/amp was excellent, although could only hook up by stereo analogue so no surround sound. I'd be dallying for a while about buying this or the Intempo DAB iPod dock and I am so glad I bought this one. It has great sound for such a relatively small system (I am sure the neighbours agree). I have literally just plugged in my iPod and it plays. The remote is great too - I can control the wheel with it which is great for being lazy! The DAB functionality is great too - I have already saved my favourite channels in the system. Very easy to use, looks great, sounds amazing - no regrets (only that I didn't buy it sooner!).

I paid about £200 for this nearly a year ago, with a usb but no ipod dock. The sound is pretty good, though I expected better for the price and wattage. However I have two big issues: 1) the DAB reception here in South London is apparently good, but not good enough for this product. If you set all the presets then turn it off, when you turn it back on it can't find a station so it re-runs the channel search, wiping all the presets. I complained to Sony and they were completely useless, having no solutions at all. Zero customer service. This was very disappointing and has made it pointless paying for a product with presets. 2) The usb socket only seems to work with a Sony mp3 player. Spent weeks trying to decide which model to buy. My priorities included a) Quiet b) Easy to Use c) Easy to Install d) Compatible with my existing equipment (includes Epson Projector, LG Cinema Sound, Sharp LCD. It came up trumps in all requirements. My wife could not get on with my previous LG DVD recorder...far too complicated, but within 30 mins was recording to HDD quite merrily. My sister, husband and I recently purchased this as a gift for my mum, as she has recently downsized to a cottage and wanted something to replace her antique stacking system that she'd had for umpteen years. This micro system fitted the bill perfectly. Simple to set up, simple to use and great sound for such a small system. The DAB works really well, though she is in a good signal area, the CD player is easy to use, and the sound clarity of both is very good. I haven't used the tape deck as we don't own any!! And haven't tuned the FM radio as the DAB does more than we could use the FM for anyway. So couldn't comment on these two parts.
