Straight out of the box you quickly see you have a stylish and high quality HD camcorder. I have not yet bought an HD TV but wanted to use the latest HD technology when capturing Christmas, days out and birthdays. As detailed in the manual the camcorder easily connects to any TV over scart or RBG and scales down the output for 'normal' TVs.

Capturing recordings to the hard drive is as a one click operation. The 15x optical zoom is smooth and the LCD shows the recording in a crisp and clear window.

Transferring the HD files to a PC or laptop is easy with the free Sony Picture Motion Browser software, just install the software and connect the Sony docking station to the USB cable and connect to a free USB port ... Read More:

Relatively expensive for what it is, but also reliable as befits the Sony name, and will charge other mp3 players. I've used it to charge my Sony Walkman, iPod Shuffle, and Creative Zen Stone, all without a problem. It looks exactly like the photo: it's a simple plug with a slot at its top, into which you insert your mp3's USB cable. Very neat, very simple, and it works without any worries.

Electronics : Official Sony LCS-BDE Small Soft Camera Case for Sony DSC W55 W80 W90 W110 W130 T70 T100 T200 T300
This is a great little case for all Sony Camera owners out there. It's soft enough to protect your delicate camera and yet tough enough to protect it from the elements. It does exactly as it says really. I'm curruntly using it for my Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 and have to say it protects it really well, doesn't leave any scratches or marks on the camera at all. It fastens with a velcro tab and has a small zipped compartment on the front for a spare battery or memory card. Overall, a great product and well worth the money. Much better value than other unofficial camera cases available. Plain, simple and good value for money.

How anyone can rate this above 2 stars is something one can't understand. I used to have a good conception of SONY's quality, but this product really managed to change that. If you don't believe it, take a look at this:

Audio quality:
1.- Noise: Constant "hiss" coming out from the headphones since the moment you turn it on. With or without a track playing in the phone, the noise is always there.
2.- Distortion: The sound reproduced it's full of distortion, particularly in the medium high frequencies. This is even more acute when you try to find a compromise between the phone's volume and the headphone's volume. No matter how how you adjust it, all you get is distortion.
3.- Bass: Bass? What bass? The only thing coming out of this headphones ... Read More:

I purchased this camera in March 2008 and have used it on a number of occasions and am extremely dissappointed with the results. It is almost impossible to take steady shots, shake is very noticable even though the steady shot is activated. The microphone picks up creaks from the plastic casing and also when activating the zoom button, the microphone is also sensitive to wind noise even the silghtest breeze sounds like a gale blowing. Auto focus can be very tempremental and you can find your pictures losing focus for no obvious reason. The software does not allow you to edit your shots together other than in the order they were taken. I feel this camera has been a total waste of money and I am now actively seeking a replacement, I have been told that HD Cameras pictures are ... Read More:

I dithered for a long time trying to choose a 40" TV. Couldn't decide between Panasonic Plasma or Sony LCD. In the end my dithering paid off as the price has dropped by over £400.

I bought the Sony in the end and I'm extremely pleased with it. I'm mainly using it for Sky (SD) but even on Freeview through the built in tuner it has a great picture (so long as you don't sit right in front of the screen) much better than any Freeview picture I have seen...very little Pixilation even on fast moving stuff like football.

Haven't tried any HD sources yet but upscaled DVDs look very rich.

I'm slightly disappointed by the sound....doesn't have the punch of my Toshiba LCD so at some stage I may consider surround sound or a 'sound bar' but it is more ... Read More:

Just bought a Sony HC53E Camcorder. Very annoyingly my old, identical looking, same 7.2v, Sony NP-FP Camcorder batteries from my previous defunct model [Sony HC22E] don't fit this new HC53E camcorder though, thanks to a few mm more plastic on the base lugs and Sony's new [anti-copying] info-lithium chip. Trim the old NP-FPs to fit in the HC-53Es NP-FH slot and the camera says 'incompatible battery' - i.e. it's got an old style info-chip, even though it is a Sony battery of the right shape, voltage and power. So I had to buy one of these `genuine' Sony NP-FH50 as a spare battery [it's the same physical size as the NP-FH30 supplied with the camera, but with a tad more power reserve].

Sony have nobbled the new HC-53E camcorder so that cheaper generic ones can't work without ... Read More:

Having just signed up to a gym, i needed a pair of earphones that wont pop out my ears when on the treadmill. These seemed like a good choice. They're comfortable, light and secure but the biggest let down is the complete lack of bass compared to the earphones that came with my creative zen. Other than that these arn't a bad purchase.
