I had previously purchased Philips modules that claim to be able to do the same as this product. Let me tell you folks, this is the BEST 20 QUID YOU WILL EVER SPEND !!. Absolutely simple to install, cables for every eventuality are supplied with these very attractive units. The transmitter and receiver are only 5" x 4" approx and about 1 1/2 " deep, aesthetically nice to look at, bright blue LED to indicate that they are working. Ours is rigged up to the sky plus box. Cabling connects the second scart socket(marked dvd/vcr on the box) from the sky box to the s-video input on the transmitter. Thomson VS480U - Wireless TV Video Sender - Watch & Control Satelite TV Around The House excellent product, connected to bt vision box in lounge and sent to 14" portable tv upstairs. very quick and easy to set up. excellent picture and sound quality. in really bad weather slight movement of boxes alleviated any disturbances. well worth the money, performed better than some of the boxes in the £70+ area.

This is one of the worst bits of junk I've ever owned. what a waste of money! I got it on special offer - now I understand why. Within weeks it was freezing constantly and you'd have to turn off the box and put it back on before it worked, (this takes a couple of minutes each time). You couldn't risk pausing or rewinding tv or it would crash. You couldn't risk deleting more than a couple of programmes each time, or it would crash. You couldn't really risk recording anything you really wanted to watch because, more often than not, it would crash half way through and the recording would then automatically delete. After 12 months of suffering this disgustingly un reliable machine I have finally given up and put it in the skip. The Thomson help line is a joke. all they are interested in is trying to sell a subscription.

1) Not very sensitive. I live near High Wycombe, not I think an area of high signal strength, but hardly out in the sticks. The unit sometimes struggles to auto-tune, and reception is somewhat hissy. It is necessary to position the radio relative to the phones (i.e. to your head) carefully to get reasonable reception. I judge it adequate for listening to speech while sitting down, marginal for music, and not acceptable for use with the radio in the pocket while moving about. On the other hand, the phone cable can never be the ideal aerial and I am not sure that any FM "personal radio" can perform wonderfully except very close to a transmitter. I had a similar, much more expensive (Sharp) personal radio that did better, but far from perfectly. Read More:

I was a bit sceptical about buying one of these as I remember the old analogue video senders that just never seemed to give you consistent results. Anyway, I plugged the transmitter into my Sky+ box and ran upstairs and plugged the receiver into my 32" LCD TV upstairs, switched on and there was my Sky+. I can see a very slight ghosting but hardly noticeable to bother me. Then ran back down to plug in the Infrared Remote cable - you plug this into the transmitter and locate one of the sensors (it has four) close to the Sky+ remote window. Ran back up with my Sky remote and everything worked as if I was down next to the Sky+ box - amazing... Ofcourse you could get yourself another Sky remote but if you are worried about ... Read More:

Another good product by Thomson, Speedtouch 576 was another good one. I can still connect my old wireless devices to it, something that I could not do with other new routers. The only quirk I find with the TG585 is the fact that the wireless speed stays mostly at 11Mbps, that's with just one wireless device connected to it. It rarely goes up to the maximum 54 Mbps that my Netgear wireless adapter supports. 5 stars if it wasn't for this. But then I guess this does not matter in the UK as broadband speeds are rarely over 6Mbps.
