Well Rod has said it all after I purchased my 920 just over a month ago. After collection in the UK (I actually live in Portugal) and using it around my home city I found it worked perfectly. Even after I tried to confuse it several times with my extenive knowledge of some very obscure routes around Norfolk I found I just could not beat the re-routing, which updated very fast - less than 10 secs every time. On the journey to Luton airport to fly back home I was dissapointed by some rather strange directions along the A11/A505, mainly due to recent road improvements (i.e., within last 18months!). Do not buy this product if you have a Mac as the support team only have Windows tools to fix problems. I bought a new map but after installing it the device is "unable to store settings: file access error". The only solution from TomTom is to plug the device into a Windows PC and run a Windows exe. So I'm stuck with a device that either won't work or works with an out-of-date map. AVOID.

I recieved this as a gift and am delighted with all aspects of this device. I note various complaints on the product- But a)If people cannot work a suction on the end of the device SHOULD THEY BE DRIVING ANYWAY- Probably not. b) Unit switches itself off- Mine doesnt- TomTom would have tested this product for such errors- Therefore few and far between. The maps are clear( some errors with roads but use common sense) Bluetooth works well- Website lists all compatatle phones. I recommend this product for people that can use electronic equipment without moaning about the tinist of things.

This product has a built in soft cusion that enables it to be shock absorbant. The product is made from quality material and when your holding it you know its not some cheap and nasty looking bag. Further more I had no problem putting my tomtom in including all its accecories. i.e. in car charger, external antenna, usb charger and even windscreen mount fitted perfectly. The booklet that comes also fitted perfectly in the back zip pocket. one customer wrote that he could'nt fit the booklet in. well if you try putting it in horizontal it wont fit but at little common sense and it perfectly fits in vertically. There is nother wide pocket spare, perfect for puttin todays slim phones in. id rather have my phone in one of my back jeans pockets but girls ... Read More:

Less than 3 months after the launch of the previous model, the 530, Tom Tom have already superseded it. This will do nothing to calm the many angry people who were fuming when they bought a 530 and found that all the so called "new" features on the 530 already existed on the 520 and could be accessed just by plugging it into the net and updating it. Many people fell for it and went and bought a 530 for £100 more than the 520 but yes, you really can get the lane guidance and IQ routes on the 520, just as i have on my 520, just by connecting to Tom Tom home and downloading the free firmware updates and a new set of maps for free (if you update within your first 30 days of owning it).
