I had the TomTom Go 700, which is a fantastic piece of kit, so when my daughter moved to University I thought I would treat myself to a new TomTom 720 and give my old 700 to my daughter. Having waited over a month for delivery I was sure that it would have the latest maps - however on my first journey the first two roundabouts were missing and the third was there but it treated it as a turn. Not a good start, but then again this is Norfolk and not so well populated. The traffic thing is a bit bizarre. I can't say I really understand it. I bought the TomTom Go 940 LIVE as I need USA maps for next year, I was considering the 930T (as my wife already has the 530T) but I am so glad that I paid that little extra and treated myself to this new range. It is Simply Ouststanding and I can't fault it yet (apart from the higher price obviously!!) I have owned and used several TomTom's over the years and am so very impressed with this new design from the simple stuff like higher Volume, easy to use MP3 player with FM Transmitter (so I can have all my tunes now on this instead of the Ipod I used to leave in the car!), to the fast GPS lock so I am not waiting for ages to start driving! I've recently purchsed a TomTom930T which includes this item, I have to say I'm pleased with it so far. Reception is good with updates being downloaded within a few minutes of connection. The updates review the quickest route and modify. I did wonder if the other folks who have had problems are running it on an older version of TomTom? I did hear that this wasn't working well for a few people. I've puchased a second lead for my other car. Pity that the arragement looks untidy - would have been handy to be able to discretely arrange behind the screen trim.

I bought this hoping it would help find where I wanted to go to in the U.S.A. and it did that and more,you really must have one of these if you plan to drive over there, it saved me time,gave me the choice of using toll roads, helped find nearest restaurants and much more. It really is a must have item.

I found the device easy to use and very intuitive; it's software worked very well and the updates were very good..however.. the main reason I bought this unit, the ability to know what traffic is doing ahead of me and suggest detours, simply doesn't work. The guy at Halfords helpfully informed me that it doesn't work in Surrey (which would have been great advice had it been given at the point of purchase!) and that because all manufacturers seem to be using TMC now there is No sat nav that can help. The ONE has now been returned and I await developments with interest. (He mentioned digital units that should be available soon...?) I would advise everyone to check TMC in the the shop you buy it from (or just outside) - do you have a signal? And take ... Read More:
