I bought a Vivicam 6200W to go snorkling in the Galapagos Islands. It worked well, giving very acceptable results, both in still and video mode. On this basis it was good value for money. It is however difficult to see the sceen underwater, although the wide angle makes point & shoot quite successful.The problems started when I returned home and tried to load the pictures on to my PC, which uses Widows XP. When installing the driver from the CD, the computer crashed, leaving me with a blue screen that could not be cleared. The computer was eventually restated, with some difficulty, by a computer engineer, but immediately crashed again when restarting the computer after the driver was installed. i simply couldn't use this camcorder, it can not detect the 4GB card and can not format it, i have just lost my money for nothing. i rated it one star because i can not chose 0 star

Cheap little camera that certainly did enough for me. I bought it about a month ago when Amazon were selling it at the same price and am very pleased with it. Lastly, contrary to what one previous reviewer said it does have a self timer. It's listed as a function in the manual but not explained for some reason. It does however work and can be set for either 2 seconds or 10.

I found this camera to take poor quality photos. The photos were very dark and when taken with the flash far to bright- sometimes the flash would not work at all. After taking a photo the camera freezes up for 5+ seconds which is very frustrating. The camera is generally difficult to use. I do realise that the price is very low so I was not expecting anything spectacular, but this camera was terrible and needless to say I sent it back for a refund.

I have now bought 3 of these, one for myself and two for the business I work for. The question of what can it do- the answer is practically everything you could want from a camera. I paid £39.99 for mine. What's in the box - The camera, rechargeable battery, remote control, camera pouch, USB cable, AV cable, earbuds, foam earbud covers, CD (Drivers, editing software) quickstart guide, owners Manual, warrantee. You will need to purchase a 2 GB SD card. The cameras on board memory is minimal, just over a minute video, the card gives you ove 1200 still or 1 hour 30 minutes high quality MPEG 4 video. My Vivitar broke after ony 3 months of use. It was under warrenty, so was returned. After 6 weeks of silence I discovered that Vivitar have gone into recievership and I couldnt get my camera back. So dont buy a Vivitar.
