I have become a fan of the Western Digital External MyBook drives - i admire their aesthetics as well as their reliability, and so despite the negative reviews on here i figured i'd take the plunge and get the 2Tb World edition model. However, i have had nothing but problems since i bought it and am now sending it back for a refund. 1. After roughly 12 frustrating hours of fiddling with settings, the drive "miraculously" appeared on my network - by this time i was already wary of the device's reliability. 2. The read / write speed is incredibly slow - i have a 100mbps router, but copying files to this drive took longer than it would have to a normal usb2 drive. 3. I have now had 2 of these drives die with a dodgy clicking noise occurring after only a few months use. Western Digital Passport drives are completely unreliable and a massive waste of money. They may be small and cool-looking but if they don't last what's the point?
