Electronics : XFX Geforce MX440 64MB AGP8X Graphic Card with TV-Out Retail

Like my title says this is a decent starter card if your playing games that are in need of a boost in the graphics department. It has a 405mhz memory clock speed which is pretty good spec for only having 64mb DDR memory onboard. I decided to buy it cause when I built my PC i only had a crappy 32mb SDRAM card from 4 years ago. So I needed an upgrade and was very happy with what I got from this card it plays my favorite games Command & Conquer: Generals and Zero Hour with fantastic lush graphics from detailed background maps to high end detail on the unit tanks. It even makes Unreal 2004 look great no slowing down when more than 3 people come on screen just non-stop shooting all the way. If your after a card to provide decent graphics for ... Read More:

Got this card over 2 years ago, and while it performed well at the time, the cost of the card now isn't worth it for the performance you get. Plays Max Payne 2 ok, and vice city runs ok, but for about £100 you could get a much better card, like a Ati 9800 series or alike which will play the up to date games like Doom 3 and Fry Cry. The 5600xt stuggles with up to date games, even at the lowest settings. Just because the card is a 128mb, that doens't mean it will preform as well as other 128 cards. I'd save some more money and invest in a better card, maybe even wait for the 9800xt 256mb card to drop in price as the new generation (x800, 6800gt) start to take over.
