I'd give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the disappointing perforance of Xtremamacs own microphone.

The real selling point of this gadget is that it turns your iPod into a portable digital sound recorder. It has a 3.5mm socket for stereo line-input and 2 selectable sensitivities : 'mic' and 'line'. It makes sound recordings in 'wav' format, making them readily exportable to just about any sound application on PC or Mac.

The first thing I did with this gadget was to make a test recording with the supplied mono microphone, using the 'mic' (sensitive) setting. The recording level was disappointingly quiet.

Next I tried a Sony powered microphone designed for use with minidisc recorders. This resulted in a very ... Read More:

After reading some reviews about this product I was a little sceptical. I bought Apple because I wouldn't have thought they'd make a half arsed product.

A couple of months into using this product it has randomly died. I'm clueless into why and nothing I've tried has fixed it. I'd read about this happening to a few other customers but at the time of purchase I took it with a grain of salt.

March 22, 2006
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Electronics : XtremeMac MicroBlast Speakers for 1st Gen iPod nano
As indicated by a previous reviewer the microblast speaker is only suitable for 1st generatio ipod nanos, not the new 2nd generation aluminium cased ipod nano. Amazon need to make this clear when marketing the product.

Product itself is well designed and of very good value.

Not sure what the guy above is talking about.. Seems to me the firmware needs updating on his TV set. I had an early 1080p Samsung and it took me 3 months before the firmware supported just-scan resolution.

Not sure what more to say about a DVI-2-HD cable plug it in, if you have a decent HD receiver it will work.

Electronics : Xtrememac IPP-IFM-12 Incharge FM Wirelsess Transmitter for iPhone/iPod - Black
I have tried a lot of solutions in order to listen to iPods in my cars. I have a VW iPod kit (very bad solution, very difficult to select your music or podcasts) and also tried cheap FM transmitters that create more noise than music.

So I am very happy to report that Incharge FM works beautifully for me with every free or half-free FM channel I have tried. The sound is clear and as good as FM gets. I suppose this have to do with the fact that the Incharge FM outputs a strong signal. I read that in the review of this product on the iLounge web site, and this seems to be true indeed. No need for more expansive devices that autoscan in order find a free channel. The only thing missing for me is that this device does not send RDS information (so the ... Read More:
