This Iriver is stylish (like most irivers), and has this slick retro-but-modern thing about it. I had a few issues with the little beast, most of which originated from an over-complicated manual and software with instructions (apparently) translated straight from Chinese into English. In other words: I don't understand a thing. The software is necessary if you intend to put videos on to the MP4 player, as any MP4 files are played in a rather uncommon format, AMV. However, when looking for a better manual on the internet, I found a free program from a different source that performs the same task (which I found easy to use). This has solved the problem. My other problem has not been addressed, though: I made a nice audio mix on Windows Media Player and synchronised. Unfortunately, the player has sorted all tracks by file, and I simply ... Wanted a small, good quality MP3 player for the commute to work. This ticks all the boxes. It's small, easy to use with no proprietary software required - just plug it in to your PC and drag and drop. If you want you can sync it with Windows Media Player but it's not necessary. Don't know what the supplied headphones are like as I use a pair of Sennheisers and the sound is great. So if you want something small and simple, get one and don't pay the premium for a bigger name brand, it's not worth it. Can't comment on video playback but that's not what I got it for. If I had one gripe it'd be that I'd like a bit more storage, maybe if they did a 4GB version it would be ideal. In the meantime, I'll stick with this.
