Does everything I want (user guide not very good though) but the battery life seemed rather poor - around 8 hours. I searched on this issue and discovered that it is important to ensure that the "power off" not the "sleep" option is selected in the advanced settings. I had been using the sleep option at night. Apparently this results in the player not really shutting down so it goes on consuming power on a continuous basis. The answer seems to be to change the setting when you wake up next day!

Bought this as a reserve player for when my 20gb one needs charging, it's a Creative so I bought with confidence and it does the trick without fuss and for me is ideal. What more do you want? It has no display, but that is evident and I don't need one - shame other's don't actually have the savvy to check out what they are buying first then slagging it off when they themselves are at fault for being so stupid.

I bought this mp3 a little while ago and i found straight away one problem. i found that it didn't have a radio like it said it would, and it wasn't one of the options you see in the picture. I also found it was quite annoying have to plug it into the computer and so i bought a plug. I found it had a mind of it own and sometimes it would charge off the plug and sometimes i wouldn't. It also turned itself on even when no buttons were being pressed, and so to stop this i had to put the lock button on. I would say that this mp3/4 is good, just a bit of waste of money and i would get something else!

Was bought for me Christmas 2006, all went well untill July o8.Would not turn off even when trying to reset unit. Next morning totally dead , would not even charge or be recognised by my pc.This nano has never been away from my workout station, never dropped or missused, so why???????? Have to go for another, trying for Nano 3rd gen, as I have only just bought expensive dock, hope i have more luck this time. I would recommend 100% if it had been more reliable.

This is a lovely bit of kit. It has plenty of memory and is easy to use. Decent gear for quite a cheap price.

Very short battery life, even if you don't use it. So every time I feel like taking it out with me, I can't because it needs recharging on the pc which takes at least 30 minutes. I find navigation is awkward and complicated, and apparently shortens the battery life rapidly. Apart from that it's fine..

I think there is more stylish mp3's around, such as the ipod range or the samsungs, however you cannot beat this unit for practicality, battery life or most importantly, sound.(Not to say this isn't stylish or doesn't look good - it does!) The wireless earphones are great to use for the gym or running. They are really easy to get working also. I think the unit itself is a nice size - not too small or large and it has a very solid, well made feel to it. The choice of the two types of earphones provided is great. The sound of the normal earphones as apposed to the wireless ones id unrivalled in what ive experienced. Ive had an ipod and a samsung previously and the battery life compared to the sony is extremely poor.
