this is a good piece of kit, tiny, loud and (now that I have worked it out) enables music to be played by album or artist. Battery life is good and if you dont want to sort your music, its easy peasy. However, if you want to store your music in anything other one big file, you will need to know how to use windows media player. Havent used WMP to create playlists before and eventually worked it out by fiddling. Drag and drop this is not!

This Sony walkman is fantastic! I have owned an iPod, which broke after a year, and also a Creative:Vision M - that died after 9 months. The Sony Walkman is far superior to either of these. The sound quality is great, I especially like the different sound settings. It looks really attractive, the pink colour is really cute, plus it's really thin so it will fit in your jeans pocket easily. Sometimes pink things can look vile when you get them in your hand, but it's not the case for the Walkman. The memory is good for what I need it for - it can actually hold more songs than I previously thought. I bought one of these for my wife about 6 months back. She uses it for listening to plays and talking books etc. It works great. Very easy to copy mp3 files to from Windows XP file explorer. Lasts all night on one charge, my wife suffers from insomnia. Plugs into a USB port to charge. Great piece of kit. Mick Hyde.

I've always had a Creative MP3 player and they have never let me down. The Creative Stone is just all out improvement from the last and faultless at that. Seems the main complaint is the battery life, but I have never had an issue plus it can be charged on almost anything with a USB connection (like a Playstation3). So all you need to do is keep a wire at hand.

I bought this to replace my ageing iPod. It was the 52 hours battery life that made me buy this, and the excellent reviews for sound quality, and range of formats. The player itself feels nice and solid, and is well built. It's about 2cm thick, but easily fits into your pocket. The 52 hour battery life is pretty impressive. You can go for weeks without having to recharge the player. The display is sharp and clear, and syncing with a PC is easy. The sound quality is also far superior to my old iPod, even with my Shure earphones. However, it does have some poor points: The player does not readily play .m4a files.
