I as thriled with this little MP3 Player at first. However after a few months it's playing up. Some tracks are stuck on it...I wiped all tracks from the player to add new ones and found some of the old ones are still on it. But they don't show up in windows media player when I synch the device. If you load alot of tracks at once it will take a long time to rebuild the library. Sometimes it powers off halfway through. When you switch back on it constantly says 'rebuilding library' then powers off like a never ending cycle. Also the battery life went down quickly if you use the forward & back buttons. But if you just had it playing without selecting tracks individually the battery lasted longer. Overall I wouldn't have bought it if I had ... Read More:

I have owned 3 Archos PMP units now and bought this one due to its attractive price and really portable size with flash memory. My impression of the sound quality is excellent. The sound is 'warmer' than an Ipod nano (which I own I am not an Ipod hater!). The video performance whilst not as good as the Archos 605 is still very good and near DVD quality. I have now watched a couple of full length movies with no eyesight problems! Although the flash memory is small at 2GB it is very cheaply upgradeable and I have currently a 4GB SD card installed. headphone socket is smaller than usual so its a pain if the supplied headphones are lost or broken, battery life wasnt even close to '8 hours' it was closer to about 2 1/2, took me a while to connect to computer (had to use 2 USB connections), it doesnt put the songs in order so finding songs is dead annoying and LONG, video player is not good at all, and it's very weak, i only got 5 months out of it before the headphone socket broke and it just froze also, this was my second one, the first one froze after a few days and had to be replaced great service etc but the MP4 is CRAP

If you are looking at the 2GB shuffle and are not sure if a 1GB will do, go for the 2GB.I actually upgraded from a 1GB as I got fed up with deleting songs to fit new songs on. With the 2GB you can load around 500 songs which once you are set up with itunes is very easy to do. I haven't actually downloaded any songs from the itunes shop as I have so many cds which I have loaded into itunes library, and this can be done as many times as you like, and if you wish you can completely remove all songs change user name and start again. It is very easy to delete and add songs. The sound quality is awesome regardless of what headphones you use and you can get over twelve hours of playback from charging. The touch buttons arent very sensitive and the speaker is not exceptionaly loud, but loud enough for my purposes. The fact that DNSE can be sent over bluetooth headphones is a major plus, i like men something that my samsung YP-P2 is not yet capable of. The screen is not very big and watching videos on it seems pointless. You can record voice and RADIO that will save straight into your files. Something else that this features that the so called brilliant "Ipod" doesnt is that you can delete files while on your mp3 player, dont have to plug it inot your computer.
