I have been in contact with Amazon about there price for the Sansa View 8gb MP3 player twice first in October and last week, pointing out that the price being quoted was most probably WRONG. I was assured that the catalogue would be altered but as can be seen the price is still the same.
Obviously Amazon takes no notice of potential customers spending time informing them of the ERROR I was assured that the problem would be rectified but nothing. One does ask the question do i really want to do business with a company that treats its potential customers in such a shabby way.

Unfortunately the phrase I most commonly use in association with this player is "useless heap of junk".

Let me explain. Although good in some ways - the sound quality is good (especially on heavy mode - don't bother with the headphones that come with it though, get some Sennheisers instead), and the capacity is amazing (I haven't even managed to half fill it and there are a few hundred CDs of music on there) this player is frustrating in many other ways.

My particular bugbear is that it does not like cold weather. This is incredibly annoying when I mostly listen to it on the commute to and from work. For at least 6 months of the year, I cannot listen to it on the train, because the briefest spell out in cold air makes ... Read More:

Just got a sexy new 10GB ipod fat32 formatted for windows. It works great, but the earbuds must be made for someone with bigger ears than me because after a while they hurt like hell, and the little covers keep coming off.

Anyway I installed it to a cheap sub £20 firewire card, but I was having no end of problems. Thinking it was the cheap firewire card I installed the card and the software to a different PC with less crap running on it and it works fine.

A tip from me is let musicmatch setup the Ipod folders for the music then uninstall it leaving just the "ipod for windows" software installed. and use Ephpod instead, mush better and easier and quicker to use

some good points - some bad ones

pluses -
good memory size for the price
looks good
very easy to use with only a few buttons meaning less to break
drag and drop your music in to player - no silly software
equaliser and sound are ok although nothing noteworthy

negatives
it can freeze, meaning you have to reset it
within a year battery life reduced - a lot
after 2 years i was having to charge every day
as it is a hard disk - it can be very slow to scroll through music and find songs.
after 2 years it is only operating quickly when it is first charged - it then becomes very slow.

overall i was pleased when i frist got it - but after time it is begining to ... Read More:
